I've been using Earplanes for close to 10 years. I travel frequently for work and couldn't fly without them due to long standing ear problems. My ear drums tend to rupture and these have literally saved me. These are a dramatic improvement over the blue earplanes. The bent flap allows these to work flawlessly while wearing can style headphones. I found with the blue ones the tip of the earplug would touch the inside of the headphone which would cause discomfort after some time. For some shorter flights it's not worth it to take them out only to put them back in 10-15 minutes later. These were comfortable for an entire hour and 15 min flight. I can hear through the headphones just fine with them in. Just have to turn the volume up. Without the headphones on I was able to hear announcements without issue. I also used the app for the first time after buying these and was pretty accurate on when to put in and take out. They are also much less noticeable than the blue version which scored major points with me! I have longer hair around my face so they were barely noticeable and my hair did not get tangled around them. I also found them easier to put in once I figured out how to hold them. I Would give them 10 stars if I could.

I have trouble with pressure changes and my ears with tall bridges. I also have unusually small ear canals for an adult. These work perfectly! Just put them in before take off and if you can't get the app to work like me, just wait for the fasten seatbelt sign to turn off then you can remove them in-flight and enjoy listening to ear buds or whatever. Just make sure you put them back in after the last flight attendant trash pickup (slightly before the captain officially announces desent) and remove after you have officially touched down and you should be great! I still chew gum and try to clear my ears with the plugs in because I have so much trouble but it is finally as easy as it is for normal people. The first time I discovered these was after a flight where I couldn't get either of my ears to pop and after days of sore ears that sounded like I was underwater still. I had to get back on a plane to go home and I was really scared about rupturing my eardrum. I discovered these in the airport and got through my whole flight with no additional pain. I then went to the doctor who gave me meds for the swelling from that first flight and said the eardrum was intact this time. I don't ever plan on flying without these now that I know they exist!
