Excellent replacement option! Original fob had broken buttons, but board still worked. Instead of an expensive new reprogrammed fob from a dealership, this shell replacement was a fairly easy and inexpensive fix. Check youtube for the best way to install.

My old keyfob started falling apart, but the key itself and the circuit board within we're perfectly fine, so instead of spending $140 on getting a new key cut, I decided to gut the old ones and put the guts into these shells. It worked pretty well, but I did have to modify the keying within the fob for the spring button setup as it wasn't a 1-to-1 fit. So if your planning to do the same and have a 2014 equinox, just know you may need to shave down some plastic on inside of the fob to get the key to fit right. Also, getting the original key apart wasn't the easiest. The glue they use on those fobs is ridiculously strong. So, be careful not to damage the circuit board when dismantling. Otherwise, a great purchase that saved me literally hundreds!

Not for the faint of heart to swap the circuit boards from old to new but once it has been accomplished, they are working well...look for a DIY video that uses a pry tool to separate the old cases.

Well with it, original keys are ruined, was only a meter of time for them to fall out, it was easy to paint to my color taste too, worked great, better spring, it does feel knock off-ish, and the buttons are harder to press however I like this about the key because I found that I kept on accidentally pressing buttons when it was in my pocket now you have to press hard, yes you have to destroy your old key to open it, it’s glued together just pry from the metal key end so you don’t damage the motherboard. The only missing detail is the panic button didn’t come out to OEM spec but I do not care

An extreme disappointment. This key fob doesn't compliment my current 2015 Chevy impala (five botton) key fob. The botton doesn't flush completely into position to work properly. Once all sets are achieved. The case won't close completely nor does the release botton goes into position completely. The botton is not the correct fit or a match to the original key fob. I had no plans to have to have the new blank key fob cut however that would be the only resolution to the problem which defeats the purpose of purchasing this item. "I DONT RECOMMEND THIS ITEM!" "This purchase is a buyer's remorse!"

Don't let the video's on how to do the changing from your original to installing into the new case. It's not as easy as it looks. Taking the original apart was the most time consuming. It would be extremely nice to have instructions with the product or a video that walks you right through the process of putting original parts in the new case. Like the case itself because it looks like an original part. Wish there was a better way of putting this together but I still haven't been successful at doing so. I'm down to the original spare key fob and it has no buttons left so now I'm having to manually lock my vehicle and pretty much every time I manually unlock from outside, the alarm goes off.

Good product and at a good price!

Perfect match and way easier to disassemble and assemble than the OEM which apparently uses NASA Grade strength polymer that is impossible to safely pop apart.

Make sure you pay attention to what part goes where. Great product, easy to assemble and reassemble. I didn’t even need to program the key, that’s how excellent it works. Much better than paying a dealer for a new fob!
