We raise our own meat chickens and butcher them ourselves. Before we used this chicken plucker, it would take us 3 plus hours to get four chickens ready for the freezer and it would take us at least half an hour to pluck the feathers out of one chicken.With this machine my husband was so impressed, he said it took about 30 seconds to a minute to pluck a chicken. Once the water got hot to dip the chicken in, it took about 2 hours to get 8 chickens plucked, cut up and wrapped ready for the freezer. We only done 8 a day because of the warm weather. Very good product. The only negative thing we could say is when my husband took the chicken plucker out of the box it was shipped in the machine was slightly dented, but did not have any effect on its performance.

Arrived beat up box. Dented. Cheap materials. Did not hold as many birds as it said it would. Only one bird at a time. Tore up some of my birds bad. Will not buy again, I do NOT recommend. A waste of my money. It will not last long as flimsy as it is. Do not buy!

Used this for the first time over the weekend and did 50 chickens. Did a great job. FYI, it did a much better job with only 2 rather than 3 chickens at a time. Fabricated out of pretty thin metal and one flaw I found is the top of the Shute where the feathers come out has a hem bend that is loose at the top and feathers collect behind it and they’re impossible to get out. I’ll probably add 4 or 5 rivets at some point.

These units are not cheap, none of them. This one is reasonably priced and did a fairly decent job of plucking. I was not impressed with the quality of workmanship when I received. Paper thin sheet metal on the collection box and had 3 screws broken during assembly with the broke off screw heads in the box. The design of the collection shoot is WRONG. The sheet metal is broke inward to prevent a cutting edge, but not crimped flat and does nothing but collect feathers that ball up and makes it very difficult to clean them out. The drum on the unit stopped spinning several times during our operation because of feathers clogging up on the bottom of the spinning drum and required cleaning. Overall the units plucks birds great. About 15-40 seconds with one bird, a little longer with two. Would have liked to see better quality workmanship at assembly and better quality materials in the choice of Sheetmetal chosen. So overall, I am satisfied with the purchase and made a huge difference processing birds. I will modify the discharge shoot to my liking.

I purchased this unit a little over a year ago, right after the last time we butchered chickens and hand plucked them. Today was the first use. It did a fantastic job and was easy to use. We processed 20 chickens and one guinea today and this thing was a God send. Dip the birds in hot water for 30 seconds and 1 to 2 minutes in the plucker and 2 birds bare of 99% of the feathers, and those left were usually large ones left on the tail or wings, easy to grab. This saved so much time. The only reason for the 3 on assembly was the wheels weren't there. Everything else was pre-assembled.

I purchased this plucker new. Either I don’t know how to use it properly or it is a very rough plucker as it literally tears the chickens up before plucking the feathers!

Easy to operate, great performance, easy to clean.Easy to move on flat paved service, not so much on gravel or grass. Sturdy and works fast less than 30 second to pluck.
