KEEN SHOES: I'm a fan!
Although I feel that the Arroyo sandals fit slightly larger and wider than other Keen sandals I own (I have about a dozen pairs) they can easily be cinched up tight with the drawstring. They are indeed comfortable enough for all-day wear, and provide very adequate arch support for me (I have flat feet!).I do have two minor complaints: Unlike my other Keen sandals that have an elastic cinch-string, these have a non-stretch cinch. It's also a bit smaller in diameter than the elastic ones. The reason I point this out is that they have a tendency to loosen over the course of the day.One could conceivably avoid this by sizing them when on, then tying an overhand knot over the cinch-string just behind the adjuster lock. However, that will make it more difficult when getting the sandals on and off.The second issue concerns the sole. Yes, it's true that this is a deeply lugged sole, and is very well suited for day hikes. However, my experience over the past week, or so, is that the soles do not do well over any wet or damp surface. It causes the sole to slip, lose traction and slide. This is apparent on a wet floor, and suggests to me that they may not perform well on the train when climbing slick rocks, or those covered in moss.I should note that I have similarly found that the Keen H2 sole is very slippery on wet surfaces, in spite of the fact that they are designed for water sports. Looking at those one would assume that they had great traction on flat, wet surfaces due to their deck-shoe style treads ("razor-cut" type tread). Not the case, unfortunately. It's no secret that I'm a Keen fan, and also own several of their shoes, as well as specialized Keen cycling shoes (3 pairs!). I love the design of the Keens, and they allow me to walk in total comfort all day long. In particular, I enjoy the thicker, padded soles. They are well cushioned, and seem to last forever.I purchased my first pair of Keens about 12 years back (give or take), and still wear them. Very well constructed, well designed shoes. The Arroyo appears to be equally well made, and will (I hope) serve me well for many years to come.

These are my new favorite Sandals
I have had KEEN's sandals for years, it seems that the company has put more effort in providing more support for your foot. It is a bit pricey but the quality is noticeable and worth it. I use these Sandals to take long walks and my feet are not getting tired.

These will do.
These are pretty decent shoes at a reasonable price.I am kind of hard to fit. Probably I need something like a 16.5 narrow, which I have never found. 16s tend to be just a hair too short, but also almost always too wide, and there aren’t that many choices. These Keens, when cinched up as tight as they go, work for me. And that’s good, since I like to wear sandals at least part of almost every day. These have a pretty stiff sole, which I personally like. They’re pretty stable and have pretty good traction which I also like. They don’t have a lot of padding between my foot and the stiff sole, and that could be better. I’m probably going to experiment with some insoles or something (which might also help with the need to pull the as tight as I can.) But even though the hard soles hurt my feet a bit, they do not aggravate my plantar fasciitis, my Achilles tendinitis, or my Morton’s neuroma, so that is a resounding success. They say they’re waterproof. I’m not sure I believe that, and probably won’t intentionally test it. The way they are shaped I don’t think the water would naturally drain out, and the leather seems unlikely to do well with sustained immersion. Actually, in large part because I am satisfied with the fit of these, I am considering getting some Keen Newport 2 water sandals for use in the water. (It looks like those are softer too, which might help my comfort, though perhaps it would make them less durable as hikers than the Arroyos.)I’ve had these a month or two and, as I said, worn them part of every day, and sometimes all day. I’ve walked a few miles in them on pavement a few times, as well as on wet wood, and they are doing great. They are wearing fine so far, with just some slight wear showing on the bottoms.Probably also relevant - since getting these I have started to follow the Keens Facebook page, so I guess that makes me an official convert.Update: I did try adding insoles - the work great and make for a more comfortable feel. I also bought some Newport 2s. These should be decent water shoes, but I find the stiff heel on the Arroyos and their general good stability far better for walking, especially in rougher terrain. And the stiffer soles will likely hold up better on rocks and even pavement. I almost upgraded these to 5 stars. Maybe I should, but I did have to add insoles to get to that level of satisfaction.

My LONG & NARROW feet like Keen’s !
I have 4 pairs of Keen sandals. They fit my long (12 1/2) & narrow (AA feet). I’m 74 yo. Rarely in my life have I found sandals I liked.I’ve had my first pair at least 12-15 years. Worn heavily on land, fishing docks and in water. Still in good shape. They are hardly any different than my new ARROYO II. They have a cloth and leather tongue. Elastic cord to tighten the top over the foot and snug the heel. Both the heel and the toe-box width are narrower than most sandals. The shoes have a nice insole with moderate arch support. The insole is removable. The exterior has reflective strips. The sole is thick, lugged and comfy on rough terrain. The ARROYO Iii are slightly different in design and colors, have a slightly longer toe box and shorter top. Otherwise, they are as completely featured and comfortable as the II’s.My fourth pair are the open-heeled NEWPORT. These are more like a typical sandal. The fit is satisfactory, but not as snug. But they are more open and may be cooler on a really hot day.SIZING: I don’t wear socks with my sandals. Per above, my actual measured length is 12 1/2. All four of the Keen pairs I have are a full size shorter: 11 1/2. ~ IMPORTANT.

Best hikers for swamps and dry land
Best hikers for swamps and dry land. This is the second time buying the Arroyos. I’m female and wear a size 9 women’s, so I sized down to a men’s 7.5 and they fit perfectly.

ALWAYS GOOD.
These sandals are very robust and extremely comfortable. The only brand of footwear that come anywhere near the quality I am looking for. I would give 6 stars if I could.
