Hefty Technicolor Blade
I am a big fan of smaller belt knives and sheep foot blades. Add my love for D2 steel and funky colors, and I had to have the Deckhand when it went on sale.Blade: the blade is around 2 1/2” on the cutting edge. Enough for most tasks but not so large you will be looking to split wood with it. I’m not huge on coated blades but the coating on this knife doesn’t seem to cause much added drag in the cut. It came working sharp and will cut hairs. If you love a shiny edges you will need to do some work. I like the toothier edges so this soured me fine.Handle: the handle fills the hand well and I was able to get all of my finger in the grip. If you have large or XL hands, you may find part of your pinky hanging off. The scales are a bit proud of the metal at points, but it is not enough to feel when using. The screws attaching the scales are partially countersunk. I would have preferred them to be flush, but that is a personal thing. The edges are chamfered at 45 degrees and not rounded so there are soft edges.Handling: The knife feels robust in the hand. The jumping is not sharp but has just enough grip to keep your thumb in place when bearing down in it.I thought that the steel under the scales had to be solid, but it did have lightening cuts. Even with the holes, the knife balances behind the front handle screw. It’s definitely robust, but it has the deleterious effect of making the knife feel heavy.Once in the sheath though, it disappears. It adds little weight to your belt and the clip holds the knife close to your body. The sheath’s retention locks around the front handle screws and not on the finger choil like I am used to. It doesn’t have the usual click but it does hold the knife without rattling.Extras: it came with a matching lanyard bead and dog tag with the brand name and “Rule #9” on the reverse (from the show NCIS, I learned).Nit picks: I would have like the sharpening choil to be a little smaller in diameter to minimize the likelihood of getting material stuck on the lip. At the 3.7 ounces, the knife could also use more lightening cuts under the scales. I’d go as far as making the knife skeletonized under the scales. It would help balance the knife better.Overall a beefy little blade that will hold up well to tasks on land a sea. Would recommend.

Nice little knife for lightweight camping
The build quality and design is really working for me. I think this blade is perfect for food prep in the back country camping out of a backpack. It doesn't have a sharp point necessarily but does have a good straight cutting edge, that makes it a good knife for slicing food. It's small bladed with enough handle, I've had good control experiences using this knife. Good well made sheath with a spring clip, grippy micarta scales and D2 steel.

Well made
So far been usingf or about two weeks, it's been a very pleasant experience. Out of the box it's ridiculously sharp. I found it fits extremely well in the hand and it's size makes it very versatile. For the price it is well made and quite durable. The belt clip it comes with is nice, ended up buying an ulti clip and I now pocket carry it. It has definitely become an easy and versatile every day carry. Something of note is the black coating dulled near the edge after one use, not a huge deal just never seen this before and can't quite get a picture. (Picture without scales shows this a little) Other than that I highly recommend this for anyone looking for an edc fixed blade or something lightweight to hike with. Worth every penny.

Great Knife & Sheath-belt clip is sloppy
It's a great little knife with an excellent handle and grip. I carry this a lot and have enjoyed having it to use.If you are using it in the kitchen, it's a little thick, but it works.I've used both an UltiClip and a teck lock style belt attachment. I do not like the belt attachment it came with- it's sloppy. I want my knife to stay where I put it.I really like the bit of metal that keeps my hand from sliding up.Also, the Kydex sheath is excellent. The shape of the blade makes it easy to put the knife back into the sheath.Great knife.

Great value
For 40 bucks I'm pretty stoked. It arrived razor sharp and the sheath fits and retains the knife just like it should. The scales rock! I love all things serape, baja, sanuk, O'Neill, Mexican blanket ish so this the perfect fit. The low cost, size, and materials make it the perfect fit for my EDC needs.

Fantastic knife, Sheath leaves room for desire
Fantastic knife. Extremely sharp and sturdy. Offers a good grip and comfortable cutting angle. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is the sheath is extremely tight to the point it's almost hard to get the knife out, however I'm sure that'll improve with usage. The belt/pocket clip is also non reversible on the left side of the sheath but is tight enough to keep the sheath in place. For $49 you can't go wrong for a very sturdy EDC sized fixed blade

Sharp, sturdy and well made.
Just like every other Kizrn I have, it has great quality and craftsmanship. I got this for my daughter's first fixed blade, and she loves it! Great to teach the little ones on, given the blade shape, it seems to be a little more forgiving with accidental tip contact and is easy for her to grip and maintain control over the blade during use.
