It is a great kit! It is fun to see the design take place and surprise loooks from people opening letters.

My daughter loves to write letters to family and friends. She loves using the wax seal to close the envelopes. This set only came with one option for the seal design. Ordered an additional set of designs for more variety

This little kit is so much fun. I've looked at sealing wax for years and wasn't sure how to use them. People are not writing letters these day, however, I'm finding lots of uses for them. For example, at the end of every journal entry, I seal the bottom of the page and include my initials and the date of the entry. If you're an artist, I'm quite sure this media is something you'll be able to incorporate in your work. The candle, the fire, the melting spoon, lots of wax colors. What fun. I've just purchased a sewing box to store my sealing wax supplies. I recommend.

This is a really cool item! This was my second time doing a wax seal, and I found this kit to be very easy to use. The wax beads melt and cools very quickly, which is convenient since you don’t have to wait very long. The wax itself is pretty runny, so make sure that you’re doing it on a flat surface. The colors are gorgeous and it really elevates any letter or scroll. Since the wax cools quickly, I personally find that it’s best to wipe the extra wax off the spoon as soon as you’re done pouring. The only questionable thing for me is that the spoon itself turns black when being heated up. I’m not sure if the spoon rest provided has the spoon sitting too close to the flame (which would also explain why it melts so quickly) or what. It also causes some minor smoking and a slight burning smell. However, once it’s cooled off the black soot can be wiped off so I don’t mind that much personally. Additionally, some of the envelopes provided came a bit bent. Overall, I really like it! It definitely elevates any letter, paper, or scroll. I personally have used it for a scroll and found that it worked perfectly.

Good starter set. I like that the melted doesn't get super hot. Works as promised and has a variety of nice colors. Love the included "Tree of Life" stamp.
