Q: I have 18mm knife and blades are thin/flexible. Are 24mm blades thicker/stiffer?

I find the 24mm blades to be thick and strong with no flex.

Q: How many blades does it hold?

Only 1 at a time. I have used this model for insulation cutting for the last 15 yrs. Best knife I have found. Only thing is the plastic piece that holds blade should be metal.

Q: can i use 18mm blades for this?

No. You'll want to use 25mm blades.
