Gave As Gift
I gave this book as a birthday gift to my incarcerated significant other. It went over very well. I didn’t read it myself but definitely would. But, yea, shipping was quick; of course it is Amazon! It’s gonna be a 5 outta 5 for me.

Keep Trying Until You Get It Right!
I didn’t know much about Gucci Mane except what my younger family members had told me, and that was, he was a rapper from Atlanta, and helped put a lot of southern rappers on the map so to speak. I became interested in reading his life story after watching him give an interview on the Breakfast Club, and after seeing his beautiful wedding on BET. I wondered, what made this young man go all out for his fiancée like this? What a gentlemen! I had to know his story…Gucci Mane better known as Radric Davis, was born in Alabama and grew up in Atlanta. He came from a very poor upbringing and a volatile home. Growing up without a father, and living in a single-parent household, Gucci was determined to make a better life for himself. Surrounded by poverty, drugs, and family members who were violent and abused alcohol, Gucci becomes a product of his environment. He turns to selling drugs and has many run-ins with the law. Confused and feeling invincible quite often, Gucci repeats his mistakes. Turning to music to try to get away from the “dope game,” he realizes all that glitters in the music industry is not gold. He faces portrayal, money losses, and backstabbing from friends-turned-foes. As soon as he thinks he’s got a good foot in the door, his addictions causes him to end up in jail once more.I appreciate Gucci’s backstory and the details about the music business, in particular, southern hip-hop. I’m from the east coast, and honestly, I only listened to a few artists like Outkast, Goodie Mob, and T.I. the rest of the artists I had never heard of, but Gucci made me curious enough to Google the names of different ones he mentioned as being legends of the South. I must admit, I too like some of the songs now. While the story of Gucci’s life was a good read that kept me turning the pages, there are quite a few gaps, which he admits were intentional, but other things such as his children or son “Bam” is mentioned as an afterthought. There’s also not a lot of details about his mother and his family as he gets older. Where were they when he got into all of this trouble? There is only one scene where his mother tries to save him, she then disappears. Also, the book came to an abrupt end, as if someone felt it was long enough or he simply didn’t want to go into any more details. In all, I hope Gucci Mane is out of jail for good. I’m glad he’s living a healthy and happy life with his wife and children.

Great Read
I was enthralled by his story , I didn't know much about Gucci. I'm happy to know he overcame his demons and has a better life. This book should be given to people seeking a better life and to be shown you can grow and change. A person has to hold themselves accountable and reconcile the past to move forward it is indeed possible. I appreciate him putting his story out as a youngster I wanted this life now I see why mama was so strict. Definitely a good read and you get to know this artist on a deep level not the media B.S. just a man evolving and changing.

It was ok
Unfortunately much of the juicier well known Gucci mane exploits are not in the book, or touched upon so lightly that they offer little more than what you can read in the press. Whole chunks of the story are actually told via newspaper excerpts; a bit disappointing for fans wanting a behind the scenes view as absolutely nothing new is revealed, seemingly for legal reasons. The overall story is ok but lacking in the expected excitement and glamour to balance out a life of monotonously repetitive prison stints and drug addiction relapses. The rags to riches plot is familiar but well brought to life, although Gucci’s extensive family history is unnecessary as it doesn’t seem to have any bearing on the story. Character development is basic at best. Overall an interesting read but at times boring, which is a shame as he seems to live such a colourful life.

A fun book full of lessons
Loved this book. Personally, I have only come across Gucci after he'd gone mainstream, so I can't say I read this as a fan of the mane. Possibly a fan of the genre. The book gives a great insider's view on trap music and the ATL scene, but it's also full of great personal stories. Whether circumstantial or self-imposed, Gucci went through a lot of struggles, and his tactics and determination are jam packed with lessons and fun anecdotes. Guwop.

Brilliant
Really good to be fair, really enjoyed it. Gucci isn’t necessarily an artist I’ve overly followed from the start however I do like a lot of his music so it was nice to read about how he got to where he is today. His story is very interesting and the books very well written.

Would recommend to anyone
It's been a while since I've read this, but I'm still remembering bits and pieces every once in a while. It's a great book that sticks with you, and it's a much needed insight into a musicians life, whom we might forget is also a human being.

Good read but not quite deep enough
I was very surprised by how good this book was; its written very well but it successfully portrays the darkness Gucci experienced. However, there were parts where I wished the language was more expressive. Overall good read.
