Can it be used on timber

Yes it will bond to timber but if you are trying to bond timber to fibreglass it is better to use a urea formaldehyde glue ( e.g. gorilla glue) to make the initial bond then strengthen that with glass fibre resin and matting. You can then use P38 to obtain the finished surface you want.

does this come with the hardener and spreaders like the smaller tins

Yes. They are in the lid just like the smaller tins.
