9/10 knife, 5/10 sheath, 3/10 packaging
As a knife collector I'm a big, big fan of this little karambit-style knife. I thought it would be just as big as the one I saw featured in The Raid 2, but it's just a little guy.No matter - it's still gorgeous and fun to open boxes with.My two niggles with it have to do with the packaging and the sheath. The packaging is just a generic cardboard box - which makes the presentation feel just a little bit cheap if you plan to give it as a gift. I've purchased similar, high-quality knives that come in branded packaging, and it would be nice if Vulture did the same.My second niggle is with the sheath. It looks nice, but it's hard to jam the knife inside of it. The buckle/button is also much tighter than it seemingly needs to be, so you have to really stretch the leather to get it to close it.But $34 for a beautiful Damascus-steel karambit - that's crazy sharp, and comes oiled - is still a bargain, hence 5 stars.

Damascus Steel "Look" is it’s Only Redeeming Quality
I am not a knife collector or connoisseur of fine cutlery, but I am a knife user. Most of my uses are on the farm, in the workshop or opening Amazon packages so I ordered this with the intention of using it like I use my lock-blade knife today.I also do not like to write poor reviews but feel that if I am crystal clear and honest in my review, I may save others from wasting time on a substandard product.Unfortunately, this is one of those reviews.Damascus Steel always catches my eye and although it doesn’t mean today what it did in earlier times, it stills looks nice and give the impression of a quality knife.Note: Original Damascus Steel was very high carbon and very strong and, if fact, was so hard you can’t actually sharpen it with just a whetstone. Damascus Steel is created through a special process that created the patterns formed by layers of steel and layers of carbon under great pressure by which you recognized the patterns in the steel.First, this knife is NOT Damascus Steel, It is an alloy steel knife that has the "look" of a Damascus Steel Knife. This knife is small but the hand position on this knife is fairly good and the finger-ring provide stability when cutting more difficult things or keeping you from dropping it. The knife is not sharp when delivered and will require significant sharpening. Most mid-level kitchen knives have a better edge that this knife. It appears to be Rough-ground and if you examine the edge under magnification, you can see how crooked (not sharp) and inconsistently the edge is made. The case is almost useless and looks like something you might find in a souvenir store while on vacation in the mountains. The handle is wood (I think) but feels very much like wood-colored plastic.Whether you are looking for a work knife, collectable, or personal defense, I would skip this one entirely.A very disappointing product.Loses four stars for lack of quality, lack of edge, and toy carrying caseKeeps one star for the cool name "Vulture Claw"

Unique blade and distinctive finish
There's something special about a well-made Damascus steel knife that you just don't get with other metals. The steel surface wears its folded layers like fingerprints making each blade distinctive and unique. While this knife would obviously display well in a collector's case, the sturdy build quality tells me this knife is meant to be used. The finishing on both the Damascus steel blade and wood handle isn't overly polished, with visible tool marks and rough edges that give the knife a rugged and rustic look. The sheath is made of thick, genuine leather with clean stitching and a nice smooth finish. The retaining strap fits a bit tightly but being leather, I expect it will break in over time.I would typically expect a knife of this quality to cost considerably more, given its solid construction and handmade pedigree. At the going price, this is a steal. Recommended.
