Does not work well as a soup spoon
Meet the Verizon Wireless Jetpack Inseego MiFi M1000, the pocket-sized wizard that makes your grandma's dial-up connection look like a carrier pigeon. This 5G Mobile WiFi Hotspot is like strapping a jet engine to your internet speed. With LTE Cat20 @ 2.4 Gbps speeds, this little device can probably download the entire internet in the time it takes to make a cup of coffee. Stream, game, and work like you’ve got the speed of a caffeinated cheetah - because with this, you basically do.Usage up to 12 hours? Yes, please. That’s enough time to binge-watch an entire season of your favorite show, hold a virtual conference, and still have juice left to argue with strangers on social media. Plus, it’s portable, so you can have your high-speed connection in the park, on a train, or while hiding in the bathroom to avoid your responsibilities. The EVDO-LINK Bundle with a Verizon Sim Card makes setup so easy that even your tech-challenged uncle could do it. And let’s not forget about the portability - this thing is smaller than your average sandwich, and definitely more useful (unless you’re really hungry).

nothing but trouble with getting 5G
I've been on the phone with tech support and escalated but no one can get 5G to work on this device. It tends to drain quickly and gets very hot when its on. Last conversation with escalated support is that there is a problem with the provisioning. Other devices we have are not having any trouble.

verizon is so frustrating
verizon only supports this product up to 60gb per month then nerfs it into a state of unusability. when i asked why, they hung up on me.

More features and runs cooler than 4G model
I've been using the 4G Jetpack Inseego MiFI 8800L for the past 3 years and decided it is now time to upgrade. This MiFi M1000 has more software features that the previous version AND it doesn't run as hot, which is VERY good, because I had to warranty the 8800L 3 times due to expanding battery packs due to hot operation. On the front there is a gap, which I presume is to aid with heat dissipation. The feature that I'm the most excited about on this M1000 version is the Ethernet port, so that I can use this Hotspot as a "modem" and connect into the WAN port on my router, for my portable trailer network to use the same internet connection.I haven't observed the M1000 connect to the 5G yet due to the intermittent availability in my area, but even without the 5G connection, this unit has provided a better experience for me on the 4G.I've included some pictures to show the size difference between the 4G 8800L and this 5G M1000. The M1000 doesn't have ports for connecting an external antenna. Both models use the same battery pack, so I can use the old pack as a spare in this new unit. This model doesn't fit in my pocket as well due to being larger, so the included carry case is appreciated. Some observations I have are that this model does NOT support the most current security standard WPA3.Because I already had a Hotspot on my Verizon plan, all I had to do was move the SIM card from the old unit to this one and the Verizon system automatically made all the necessary updates to my account to recognize the new device. The EVDO-LINK Bundle included a new SIM card, a fabric pouch to store the charging cable and extra battery, and a soft-shell case. I'm very pleased with this unit

Little outdated, thicker than imagined but works well.
This device is meant for Verizon. It is unlocked and a TMobile sim works in it but in my area it will only use LTE. A TMobile tablet account worked for about 20 min and then TMO started blocking it. So if you have thoughts of using a cheap business tablet plan on it, move along to something else.Down side to this device is that battery needs to be installed to work even though you are plugged in. With the battery installed, plugged in and extended use, it does get pretty warm. Not a device you want to use for home internet. Nice that it has a network port. Mine came with a case and second battery, nice for when I'm traveling. Also nice that if you plug it into a computer via usb, the computer sees it like a regular cabled network. Came in handy when a I client's fiber went down and their backup Starlink wasn't working. I had it at their site as a backup, backup. I had some someone plug it into the usb port and I could then login and troubleshoot remotely.Overall not a bad unit. I don't like that it has a soft tough coating on. In few years the coating is gonna break down and get sticky. When that happens, IPA does a good job of removing the coating.

The Little Jetpack That Could
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5)If you’ve ever found yourself cursing at your phone because “No Service” always appears at the worst possible moment, the Verizon Jetpack MiFi M1000 might just be your savior. This little guy cranks out 5G speeds up to 2.4 Gbps, which means it’s faster than most people's home WiFi. Plus, it runs for up to 12 hours—so unless you’re attempting to marathon-stream all of "The Lord of the Rings" in a tent, you’re probably good to go.At $245, it’s not the cheapest way to stay connected, but for what it does, I'd call it pretty well priced. It’s reliable, portable, and won’t give you that “I’m about to overheat” feeling that some other hotspots love to share. Just toss it in your bag, and you’re ready to show off your strong internet game anywhere. Why 4 stars and not 5? Well, nothing’s perfect. The battery’s solid, but it doesn’t quite get me through an all-day binge without a power bank. Still, worth it if you value speed and reliability!
