Taymor 02-D8586CORB Pedestal Soap Dish, Coated Oil Rubbed Bronze

This would have received 5 starts had it arrived in one piece, but it was broken in two at the spot where the dish meets the pedestal. The satin nickel sheen is very nice, and the dish insert, while made of some kind of synthetic material, looks very nice like milk glass. I will probably just crazy glue the base and dish back together. I believe the reason it arrived broken is because of the shoddy way it was packed for shipping. It was in an amazon box with two little inflated plastic pillows, and with plenty of room for the thing to be thrown around the box during shipping. You'd think Amazon would know better. If you can order this directly from Taymor, you might have a better shot at receiving it intact. The actual product is very nice.

I ordered the brass-colored soap dish. The first time it came, the stand was broken off, despite the box not being damaged (nor the other items in the box). I also noticed that it was badly packed--just thrown into the box with some air pillows. Much worse than typical Amazon packing. Luckily returns are easy with Amazon, and the replacement came quickly--and intact despite insufficient packing. However, the stand was soldered crookedly where it met the soap dish. I was able to bend it--very carefully--back to approximate straightness and decided to keep the item.Overall, a nice-looking soap dish, but flawed with fragile and error-prone construction (would have been much better if the stand was threaded and could be screwed in once in customer hands), combined with very questionable packing, make this a hit-and-miss purchase.

I see others have written that they received their's broken or it just want's what they thought it was. Mine was delivered intact. I actually like the white insert. I don't think its plastic. At least not a cheap plastic. but it works for the product. I received the Satin metal to go with my other things on the counter. The other reviews were negative pretty much, so, I was afraid to order this, but decided since it was exactly what I was looking for I ordered it anyway. but it turned out great.

just received this and i am not very impressed..of course looking at the picture now i can see it looks just like it...lol..it's pretty heavy so you shouldn't have any prob with it tipping over...i just find it tacky looking...the dish insert will be easy to clean, but other than that i don't have much good to say about it...just a matter of taste

I have a tiled shower with a rack hanging beneath the shower head to hold shampoo and soap. However, I was tired of the dripping shower head wasting away the soap and dripping it on the knob and floor. So, I wanted a free standing dish in bronze to go with my fixtures. This is beautiful for a soap dish. I like that it stands like a pedestal. Better still, the plastic holder is removeable and can go in the dishwasher to scour away soap scum. This is a bit heavy and stands without worry of accidentally knocking it over. Looks great on the seat in our shower stall. Worth the price.

It was perfect for my bathroom. My bathroom sink has a brass ring around it and this just enhances it. (even the rim of the soap dish is brass), The soap is held by a piece of well made thick plastic which can be removed and cleaned. The other feature that I like is the soap dish hangs over part of the sink. It's heavy enough so it won't tip over it you bump up against it. My old soap holder is attached to the wall next to the sink and I was contantly keeping it clean. This is a breeze to keep clean and the only thing I was missing on this purchase was a mask!What a bargin.

About two weeks ago Amazon ran the chrome version for under $5 with super saver shipping. I immediately thought about my garage, which has a sink, and had no decent soap dish. This one is perfect there. It is large and weighted so that it will not tip over. There is a plastic liner to protect the chrome. The workmanship is excellent. The bowl would accommodate two medium soaps or scrubbers. Yes, this is way nicer than my garage deserves, but the only other place it would go is in a laundry room or perhaps a man's bathroom. It came very well packaged, shrink wrapped in fact.

I bought this for my boyfriend to match his shaving kit I bought him for Christmas last year. The felt bottom fell over when I took it out of the box and could not glue it back in place very well has the bottom stand is hollow.
