This is the correct way to wire it!
Works great so far. I have it wired to slow down a 24V motor. I realize there is no wiring diagram included and most negative reviews are probably because it's wired incorrectly. I've included a diagram in my pictures to wire the controller properly. It doesn't even get warm when using it, hope this helps.

12 volt NOT 24V
Worked great on a 12 volt 80 watt fan.....when i put it on a 24 volt 80 watt fan it burned up immediatly

Heck of a job Brownie! Nice little speed controller, I'm using it for an aftermarket heater in a tractor. It was cheaper than a switch at the auto parts store. Doesn't heat up on an 80 watt / 12 volt motor, it's only been in use a week but it feels well made and is certainly worth more than the price. I attached it to the case with double sided foam, there are no real attachment points otherwise. I would buy again. The wiring guide in the product photos was accurate.

Easy to install- easier to use
This is a great add on or replacement for RV bathroom fan control. We installed a larger electric motor that was a bit much for our RV bathroom fan control- this device was the perfect answer to adjust the fan speed. It also has a positive OFF setting. Great item.
