This balm is a solid choice if you’re looking to move away from sunscreens with questionable chemicals. The product is a bit thicker, so you do need to take your time rubbing it in, and if you apply too much, it can leave a slight white cast. However, the extra effort is worth it for the peace of mind that comes with using minimal and natural ingredients. It’s fragrance-free and leaves my skin with a nice glow without peeling or flaking, even after reapplying. Works great & is an amazing & pure product. Sure it leaves a white cast & who cares! Never burned once. Thank you, now I don’t have to make my own. I am updating this review. My 2nd order came with a white lid not gold, no big deal. However it has a lot of product missing & I believe it has been used so I am sending it back & I will try it again. I am so disappointed & pretty grossed out from this.

If you are like me, you want your child to have the healthiest possible options for sunscreen this is it. Only 2 ingredients! Grass fed beef tallow and Non nano zinc oxide. My daughter has very sensitive skin and got a horrible sunburn earlier in the summer and I haven't felt good about putting the chemical filled regular sunscreen on her. This was the least expensive, healthy option to use until I can render my own beef tallow! It is a small jar, but it's glass so that's nice. It has a faint scent that my husband swears smells like stew... but it's hardly noticeable and fades over time. It does leave your skin looking a but white, but I'd rather have that than get a sunburn OR have chemicals soak into your skin! Love it so much we've bought it 3 times!

I’m sure this is a good product I wore for a full day it feels a bit heavy, but maybe I just put too much. I will warn you if you are tan or black DO NOT buy this. The white cast is crazy, looked like i was wearing make up

Took this on a trip to France and we were able to be at the beach clubs and walking around the towns with no issues of burning. We paired this with the beef tallow to make sure our skin was nice and hydrated. Would recommend for any beach vacation or just being outside.

I bought this product and then returned it after realizing it doesn't have an SPF rating. Why is this a big deal? From what I've read online, zinc oxide has a tendency to clump up, leaving "holes" between particles. These holes are smaller than what the human eye can see, meaning you could unknowingly leave your skin unprotected. This is why homemade sunscreens are frowned upon. Until it has been 3rd party tested and given an SPF rating, I'm not going to buy this again. There is a reason why every dermatologist recommends sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher. I love Brendan and have bought his electrolytes several times, but this sunscreen isn't a product they should be selling, in my opinion.

I have very dark skin and rarely need sunblock but my wife has a super pale complexion. I often worry about my family using harmful sunscreens . We've gotten into beef tallow skin care and I convinced her to try this sunbalm for a trip on the lake. She was out most of the day in 90+ degrees 8-9 Uv index and didn't burn at all. We got home and went for a 20 minute walk with the dogs and she didn't think to put any on and she burnt her shoulders so it definitely works very well.
