Superb little powerhouse
I spent a lot of time looking for the what I considered the best value laptop around the £800 mark, went to other stores in person to try the keyboards and see the finish before purchasing this. I've been continually impressed by this laptop since I purchased it back in October. The OLED screen on it is exceptionally good - I tested a range of laptops in a local store by running a 4k LG test video on them and was impressed by this one. The keyboard feel was also very nice for the price and the touchpad was smooth and accurate, which I'm fussy about. I used cpubenchmark's website to see how the AMD 8845HS held up against the competition and was impressed by the numbers at this price point, matching apples best chips in this category which is great for the video rendering which I do. The laptop is very light and portable and feels reassuringly well built with the aluminium shell. Battery life is good but not great, considering the laptops thin profile it's decent. I've bought an anker 130w battery bank for it as a supplement which gives you a full day of battery power. What set this laptop apart from any of the others in this category is the wide range of IO ports. 2 USB c, 2 USB A, 3.5mm jack SD card and full size HDMI means you aren't needing to plug in silly adaptors for every peripheral; a welcome change from the minimalist competition. Can't recommend enough, and I haven't had any of the issues mentioned in the other reviews. Time may reveal a different story but right now very happy.

ACER Swift Go 16
Excellent laptop to serve most purposes. The keyboard is an unusual style, with keys not to standard sizes. There is a numerical keyboard again with unusual sized keys. This means that your fingers will not spread evenly across the keyboard but feel cramped, having to press the smaller keys. The cursor keys for left and right are good but the up and down keys share the same space. As for the power, sockets and plug in's it's all good though could have done with two more USB 3.0 sockets as most peripherals are now USB plug in's.

Make recovery and clean install USB's for peace of mind.
After a rocky start of 2 major crashes, needing a recovery reboot and then a week later a clean windows install, my laptop is now been behaving, thankfully. The tentative start has me on edge a bit which I hope dies away. Always make recovery and windows Usbs the day you get the laptop for peace of mind. Update. Camera failed in June 2025 and after a week of Acer online help fixes that didn't, it had to be sent back. Had to buy a second hand lap top meantime so I could do my work. It has now been behaving okay but to be honest I don't trust it. It is good though to have a back up computer! It's a Lenevo.

Don't touch with a 10ft pole
Intermittent hard reboot uncontrollably from the beginning. Returned for repairs, waited a month while "waiting for parts", started complaining. After a week of persistent phone calls I asked for it back, then it was suddenly "fixed and working" within a couple of hours. First thing when turned back on was stuck in a repair/recovery power loop. If you are thinking of getting it, don't. Luckily Amazon stepped in with excellent customer service.
