I bought this book because I follow the Western Mystery tradition path of spiritual progression.This path is categorised by not being a path at all - there are schools (very few) and teachers (even fewer) but most people approach this way of life having rejected organised religion in the first place.Dion Fortune was one of the great teachers of the Western Mystery tradition in the 20th century. This book comprises a series of serious magazine articles she had published in the months before WWII. They are edited by an occultist who was a member of her mystery school - he later became a teacher and authority on the subject in his own right.The book has some marvellous, meaty chapters on subjects such as 'The Subtle Bodies, the Psychic Centres and their Use, Stages in the Great Work, Channels of Sublimation. Basically, it's a book about the practical side of working with the aura if you are interested in spiritual development. It's not likely to be suitable for the complete beginner, and there are other books on the subject if you are in the first stages of an interest in such matters. If you're a bit further along the way, true gold dust.

This book was a recommendation from a friend. I am still in the process of studying it but I can tell it is definitely a book that one should have if one is learning about the metaphysical.
