Perfect compact learning book for travel with your littles!!! Like them so much we ordered several for the grands!!! I think they are on the pricey side unless you buy them on sale like I did. I picked up several on sale few weeks ago. I'll be picking up others when they go on sale to complete the collection.

Excellent book for those wanting a brief overview to a variety of bugs. This book is not overly technical; I would rate it pre-college level. I read it because I wanted a better understanding of bugs and insects. While it is not a field guide, it does discuss a wide variety of bugs. Excellent for a brief and not too in-depth overview of bugs.

a great reference book and very handy

I like the bite size bits of information that make you more interested in the bug it makes me wish there was full pages on the bugs instead of a blurb but good for those of us that don't want to commit to a 500 page book of info. I bought this as a table book for my family with the intent of them picking it up and finding some interesting tidbits of info. I was interested in a significantly larger and more indepth book(Insects of California) but thought this would be more digestible and help test the waters. The only cons I have for this is that the font is very small even for small children with their small eyes they'd have trouble with it and something I knew would happen, split pictures are hard to view unless you want to flatten the book. Overall a good fun guide to have around, I've also ordered the cat volume for myself.

Perfect size for the 7 year old creepy-crawly enthusiast in the family. He's a good reader so the text is just the right challenge with occasional pronunciation help. Great photos. Concise information. We keep a metric/standard tape measure handy to visual the given sizes of the bugs, and consult a map for continent locations.

My grandson loves bugs and discovering the world around him. The Pocket Genius Bugs book was a nice addition to his book collection. The book is small and can easily be carried around to discover what he might be seeing out in the wilderness or his own backyard.

My boys are bug lovers and absolutely love this book. They love looking for bugs outside and then looking for the bug in the book. I love that the book includes the bugs diet because my boys always need to know what they eat. Definitely recommend this book to anyone that loves bugs!

I read it every time I am on a train or bus to pass time while enriching my knowledge. The compact size does help and I can take it anywhere I go.

Love all DK books. This one is great to bring camping or hiking, or even just playing in the yard. We can identify the different bugs we can find. The pictures are great. My son literally runs to it whenever he finds something new or unusual.
