ASICS Men's MATCONTROL 3 Wrestling Shoes

The shoe was pretty comfortable, I stopped having really sore soles after practices and the quality is pretty nice, it only took me about 4 practices to break in, might take longer but most of my practices included me to spar with soneone so that may be a reason why, the size was correct, I wear size 10s for my other shoes and the 10 I bought fit me, you might need to adjust the laces up a bit as if you just try to put it on it will feel a little tight, the supports on the ankle was pretty good it holds up pretty well. Overall the shoes is pretty nice and comfortable for it's price and it does function as what you would want for wrestling shoes.

I was going to return them because they fit a bit too snug around the toes. But now that I’ve broken them in, they’re my favorite shoes to use for boxing.

Please read this review before buying... First off, they take 2 weeks to break in. I purchased these shoes in a size 12, but was very concerned by how tight they were in the beginning compared to their previous model, the Matcontrol 2. Fortunately they broke in and now they fit my feet. Additionally shoes like the split elite were considerably larger in a size 12 so make sure to go try the shoes before hand, that is pretty much my only criticism on the shoe. After 2 years of use I can say that these shoes have definitely grown on me, here is why: Tread Pattern- They have the same tread pattern as the Dan Gable Evo 3 and Asics Ex-eo models which are new gen shoes (non marking tread pattern) which is really grippy and easy to shoot in. Reliability- Other than the white paint coming off due to skimming the mat, these shoes are not falling apart soon, there is only a little stretch in the toe box but that is just from breaking in. (2 years of wear) Easy to clean- Because these shoes are so easy to clean due to their minimalism, I prefer using an old toothbrush or wipes, and when drying I just put it infront of a fan. Support- Of course all wrestling shoes are meant to be supportive, but when you tie it good they are not coming off and the runners lace adds much needed lockdown.

ASICS are the pinnacle of wrestling shoes and it’s tough to find a bad one. The traction on them is top tier and it’s what I look for in a wrestling shoe. I’m used to getting my normal size in Aggressors/ any other ASICS shoes but in this case I needed some new mat shoes in a pinch and these were the fastest shipping ones so I figured I’d order these as it’s hard to go wrong w ASICS. But WOW…. Just wow - I was actually astonished with how far off their 9-1/2 was. It felt like a 7 on my feet. The shoe was absurdly narrow and there is no way it was a 9-1/2. I have a pretty normal shaped foot - maybe even bordering on slightly narrow given my high arches, so I was just bummed I had to return them. The good news was there was an asics outlet near by with the same make but different style and turns out the same issue was apparent there too. Out of sheer curiosity I asked the attendant for a size 11 to see how far off it’d be and to my surprise they fit… PERFECTLY. So moral of the story - order these a whole SIZE & A HALF UP!!! They gotta fix their sizing because it was ridiculous how far off they were. 4/5

These run small! I always liked Asics wrestling shoes and wearing them regularly for working out. Ordered these to replace an older pair and could barely get my foot in the shoe. I ordered a 11.5 mens, which is usually my size in Asics. These felt at least a whole size too small if not smaller. Unfortunately, I had to return them. They look great but run too small.

I use these as gym shoes; love them because they're well constructed, flexible, and I can feel the floor which is great for leg days. Ordered a half size up from my normal shoe size as they fit on the small side.

Me llegaron en 18 días, al igual que llegaron de una talla menos a la que se suponía que deberían llegar, y por último llegaron usados y súper sucios.
