Anchor Hocking 1.5 Gallon Montana Glass Jar with Lid (2 piece, brushed metal, dishwasher safe)

Love this jar! It is airtight & looks fabulous on our counter.

I have been looking for an upgrade for storing my flour for some time (my old glass jar had a rather narrow neck that didn't fit a measuring cup). Out of all the options I looked at, this ended up being the best by far for the following reasons: 1. Glass is a better storage material than plastic (healthier and more durable). 2. The jar is very attractive. It looks classy in my cabinet. 3. Closing and opening the jar is easy with the large peg on the top (many jars have a flat-top design that needs to be gripped firmly with a whole hand, which is hard when your hands might be covered in various baking supplies). 4. The 1.5 gallon jar is a great size for a 5-lb bag of flour. There is some room to spare, but given that I buy new flour before I've totally run out of the previous bag, it will be nice to have some extra space. 5. The mouth of the jar is very wide and comfortably fits a full-size measuring cup. As a big bonus, the jar is American-made, and a terrific value for the money. Many stores sell flour jars that are way less practical than this, made in China, for $20-50.

Whenever you order anything glass, there's always a buyers anxiety about will it arrive unbroken. Well, no worries with this if you decide to purchase. It arrived packaged very well and no damage and was I so happy. It's very sturdy thick glass. The stainless steel lid is very attractive and has the inner lining that seals it for storing dry goods. I did purchase 3 different sizes and am happy with all 3 sizes. They make for nice visibility and storage. Satisfied and definitely recommend.

These heavy duty canisters work great for replacing old plastic canisters that have lids that have fallen apart and won’t seal any more.

This is a very nice 2.5 Gallon Glass Jar. I wonder if its usable for liquid also. There doesn't seem any information on this, everything say dry storage. I would have gave this glass 5 Stars but I am on the fence that everywhere it says "Anchor Hocking Glass has been proudly made in the USA for 110+ years in Lancaster, Ohio." "made in the U.S." "Closure Type: Cork" "Country of Origin: USA"; however on the metal lit it says "Made in China" I assume that only the lid was made in China, but its also not Cork

10 pounds of flour...yes that much! Coming from a baker, this is a must have for your pantry! Holding so much and keeping it fresh! I was very impressed with the quality of the glass and the top. The top fits on super snug to avoid any unwanted guests! No matter what you are storing it will be the same as when you put it in...LOVE it! So glad I got it! If your like me and buying a five pound bag of flour each week instead of buying store bread, you need one!

If you’re trying to figure out what I could use to store my cat food, I stumbled onto these wonderful huge jars. And I mean huge. They are perfect for dry foods especially for any pet owners that want to keep their kibble in a safe environment that also will keep things fresh but don’t have any bad chemicals or leaching of plastics. These bad boys are also incredibly good looking and the stainless tops are lovely. Two quick things; the lids are not screw ones you just pick them up… I was a little confused as I thought they would be screwed ones but they have some type of vacuum apparatus where you just open and close it and it shuts down the air. And, these guys are incredibly heavy. So if you don’t like or don’t want to have to navigate heavy heavy jars, these may not be for you. I actually love the heft of the jars as they are very solidly made but I can see if you were going to be using them daily it may be a pain if you need to lift them up and down. I just use a stainless steel scoop for each jar that I have for each type of cat food and leave the jars in my pantry and just open them up and scoop out what I need so I don’t have to pick them up. But they are very very well-made and a perfect addition for what I need for the cat food. Highly recommended.

Nice, solid glass jars! I have my sugars and flours in these jars (flour in the larger ones) and I've had them in there for years with no complaints! The glass is clear and smooth and the lids are sealed well. I don't know if it's 100% air-tight, but they are very well fitted - enough to keep bugs or anything out and the contents fresh. I would recommend these jars!

Lid does not seal on one jar. Plastics is too flimsy. Other than that is does what we need it to do.

So big! I use it to store flour, rice on my counter for easy access but it’s very big! But looks stunning and very good quality the seal is awesome it’s airtight for sure!

I have many of these and they are perfect for dry storage. I have larger ones for storing flour, rice, and coffee beans too and they look great in my open-style pantry. Worth the investment. 3 years on, and they are still in like-new condition.

Look nice, glass is not too heavy. This is what entice me to buy the container. But not sure if it air tight. It holds 900g of oats in the container, anymore will be too much.
