I know Gary Pinkel personally and know what a great coach, family man and more importantly
This book intrigued me for several reasons. I attended Mizzou back in the '60's and have been an avid fan of the Tigers ever since. Secondly, I know Gary Pinkel personally and know what a great coach, family man and more importantly, what a great man he is. And finally I am drawn very closely to the writings of Dave Matter not only for their excellence but because he is my son.

Very enjoyable
I have always had the utmost respect for Gary Pinkel. He's a stand up guy who never avoided responsibility, and he did a remarkable job as Mizzou's football coach. This book gives you a deeper understanding of him and his background. I have to say....Saturday's aren't the same without Coach Pinkel on the sideline. I highly recommend this book to any Mizzou Tiger or college football fan.

A Mizzou fan is satisfied
This is obviously a book for Mizzou fans, or someone wanting to know more about the man from his stops along the way to Columbia. It feels like Pinkel talking so I credit his co-writer. Pinkel was so buttoned down publicly it interesting to get anything from him beyond what we were allowed to hear and see over the years. He doesn't exactly cut loose but it brings back a lot of fond and a few not so fond Mizzou memories. His obsession with Don James is a bit much, but Pinkel is what he is. I'm glad I spent time with this book and wish the man well.

Mizzou fan forever
I enjoyed reading Coach Pinkel's book. He is a remarkable man who performed a remarkable job of bringing the Mizzou football program back to life. I was struck by his willingness to share so many details related to his personal life and how it was so intertwined with his professional life.

Very good book
Gave great insight to some of the things that went on behind the scenes that the media speculated on. I always thought that Gary was a stand-up guy and this book confirms it. I wish he was still on the sideline each Saturday but only wish him the best. If you are a Mizzou football fan it is a must read.

Good Mizzou nostalgia
This is a simple, easy read into Pinkel's psyche and his philosophy. There aren't many major revelations, but if you're a Mizzou fan, the nostalgia of the successes under Pinkel will be worth it alone.
