Great boots, but be weary about sizing.
Had Meindl boots before. Had 9.5 UK previously which were a bit tight, so ordered 10's this time around. Panicked when 10.5's turned up in the box. However, I'm glad they did as they fit like a glove with decent hiking socks.

Very narrow fit
Thought the boots looked really good quality, however the fit was very narrow and pinched my toes. Sadly had to return for refund

A great boot, but at a cost and not just monetary.
Brought these for the name and quality the brand is meant to represent.Breaking them in took a while, they felt great the first time I wore them and took the dog for a 45minute walk on what are flat paths and gravel tracks. The second day when I did the same walk I could feel they were rubbing by about half way round and by the time I was half way home from there, I was in agony and had the typical new boot blister on both heels. So, two weeks of not wearing them, then only wearing them with plasters on my heels and two pairs of thick socks to prevent more blisters and to break them in over the next couple of weeks or so.Since they've been broken in, they have been very comfortable, but after about 5months one of the lace hooks came off when I was doing them up.The supplier sent them back to Meindl FOC for repair, which took a couple of weeks or so.Then after having them for around 10months, one of the lace hooks came off again when I was doing them up. I can't say if it was the same lace hook, but it was frustrating the same issue happened again within 10months and bearing in mind I didn't wear them for two weeks while my blisters recovered and two weeks while they were away being repaired, I only wore them for 9months, whilst I probably wore them 3, 4, or 5, times a week, I certainly didn't wear them every day during those 9months.What was also rather frustrating was 13months after buying them, I discovered they were no longer water proof. Yes, I applied good quality leather treatments, dubbing and waterproofing during that initial year. So, getting wet socks one morning walking the dog was most annoying a month beyond the 1year warranty/guarantee.Would I buy them again - No.For £223.29 (what I paid in November 2022) I am somewhat disappointed as they have lasted no longer (waterproof wise) than my previous go to outdoor boots, GriSport Peaklander, which can still be had for around £90 and stay waterproof for over a year and the lace hooks don't seem to come out either! For over £

Great Boot
Not the cheapest, you get what you pay for. Quality is great and they are great- no requirement to walk in.

Issues. Be aware.
Issues: Narrow fitting. Heel blisters. Crippled feet.Purchased the top of the range Bhutans for extensive trekking trips across the Himalayan ranges. I go a half size higher to allow for comfort socks. Wore them around the house for a week or so and then walked into town and back. My heels were badly blistered. So much (almost shredded) that they went back in the box as I needed working boots for an impending trip. Fast forward several years and several glorious months long trips trekking in regular moab boots. I have another upcoming major trekking expedition. With a few months spare I was determined to get the Bhutans working. Again.. casual home wear followed by local walks. Again heels badly blistered. Maybe worse of all the poor width created merry hell and the appearance of swollen bunions. I have never had bunions (hallux valgus). The bruising extended along my metatarsal.I was determined to reshape the shoes. The leather is THICK and not easy to fashion. I tried most recommended techniques including wooden blocks. Over a month with regular wear and walks I fought every step and hoped to achieve the comfort and fit that other owners wax lyrical about. Every night I tended to the shoes with lotions and expanders. They remain too tight.I have run out of time and need to repair my feetNow after two months my feet are a little crippled and wearing my regular trekking boots and shoes is painful. I have considered cancelling my big trip around Manaslu and Annapurna but imagine a few more weeks should get my feet back to normal. So a warning to prospective buyers. The boots look great and have a solid reputation amongst old school hikers. No doubt the quality and craftsmanship is excellent. However they are an obvious throwback to a time when people’s feet were shaped by shoes rather than the natural shapes and modern shoe designs to create comfort ‘out of the box’. Mine are now back in the box.Great boots. Poor fitting..

Best boots I have ever owned!
Had these for about a month now.Used everyday for dog walking in woodland and for a week in Cornwall doing coastal walks etc which can be challenging at times.Found them to be very comfortable straight out the box offering excellent ankle support for when you misjudge the edge of a path and your ankle tries to twist. So far waterproofing has been excellent.I bought a half a size up from my normal size and they fit perfectly even with thick walking socks. Can’t review long term durability yet but so far, best boots I have ever owned. Love them!
