The Ultimate Sweet Spot for VRAM and VRM Cooling in Extreme Heat
I recently ordered this UPSIREN UTP-8 thermal putty to tackle a major heat issue on a friend's older ASUS laptop with an RTX 2060. Out here in Indio the summer ambient temperatures are brutal and standard thermal pads simply do not cut it. The factory pads inside this laptop were dried out and crumbling. Sizing and cutting traditional replacement pads is a fool's errand. If you get the millimeter thickness even slightly wrong, the copper heatsink will not make proper contact with the main processor die. That completely ruins your entire cooling system. This pink putty completely solves that problem by acting exactly like moldable clay. You just roll it into small pieces and place them directly onto the VRMs and VRAM memory chips. The wonderful thing with the UTP-8 is its incredible compressibility. When you screw the laptop heatsink back down using a crisscross pattern the putty effortlessly squishes out to fill the exact gap required. It guarantees perfect mounting pressure for your main chips while delivering an impressive 14.8 W/mK of thermal conductivity to the surrounding power components. Just remember to avoid during application is putting the putty on unpopulated solder pads. My client's motherboard had empty rectangles where additional VRAM chips could have been placed but the factory lazily stamped putty there anyway. You only want to apply this to the actual black silicon chips and grey power blocks to avoid wasting the material. Working with this putty is incredibly satisfying once you get the hang of it. I recommend leaving the clear plastic film on your primary CPU thermal pad (TPM7950 used in picutures) while you wrestle with this pink material to keep your critical surfaces perfectly clean. Once the laptop was reassembled, the VRM and core temperatures dropped so drastically that I was able to comfortably run Cinebench stress tests maxing out in the low 70s on a laptop that was throttling during idle before. If you are doing a full laptop teardown or replacing the thermal interface material on a desktop GPU this twenty gram jar provides more than enough material to get the job done right the first time.

Great thermal performance, simple to apply, albeit a bit messy, and also expensive.
Best thermal putty you can buy. It shapes perfectly to any components you put it on. It's simple to apply, just roll it in a cylinder for longer parts or ball for smaller ones. It's better than traditional thermal pads since it will easily squish out of the way if you put too much. It doesn't stick real great to surfaces, but you don't really need it to once it's clamped between the heatsink and the component. Not sure how well it holds up over time yet, but initial testing shows its thermal ability reduced my vram temps in my BC250 by about 5C compared with the stock thermal pads it was using. It is expensive though, wish it were cheaper. A little bit goes a long way, but you can still go through a lot depending on the components you want to cool.

Easy to Spread, and Yields Great Results Temp-Wise
Laying the putty on was relatively easy. I smeared it between components and on surfaces touching my laptop's heat sync and it went on nicely and as expected, but at times I'd apply more onto a piece already laid and it'd take the piece that was already there with it. Speaks to its ease of use since if you mess up, you can just take it off and reuse it. As for performance, its great. Chances are that if you're looking into using this, you have a Zephyrus G-something or some other gaming laptop running at 95C out of the box. That's how my laptop was, then after replacing the putty on it, I saw temperatures maxing out at 70-80C with heavier loads (used PTM7950 on GPU and CPU as well) to paint a better story. This thing used to idle at 85Cs and it lingers around 50C now. Definitely worth it in my opinion, just be careful while reinstalling your heat sync since this stuff is so sticky that it'll stick onto it if you lift it up again.

Amazing product
Amazing product and easy to work with and apply. Works as expected!! I put it on my Razer Blade 16 with rtx 5090 in combo with Honeywell ptm 7950 and saw temps of 10-15 less for CPU(AMD Ryzen AI 9) and 5-10 less for the GPU.

Muy buena transferencia de calor.
Muy buena masilla térmica. Un poco arenosa y dificultosa de manejar pero muy maleable. El kit que viene junto con la masilla es muy versátil.

Cooler temps!
Works great for a repaste on my 7900xtx now my temps never go above 81c! Watch a video before using! Sticks pretty well once you start working with it and it’s a great price

Excellent cooling performance, easy application
This stuff is awesome! Has all the thermal transfer capabilities of high performance thermal pads but the putty form removes any need for figuring out the various pad thicknesses. It's very easy to apply, went on quickly and had my 9070XT back up and running with way better memory temps. So glad I finally tried this stuff, I'll be using it on all of my GPUs in the future.

Perfect
Perfect solution for my laptop. under stress test VR temp dropped from 98 deg C to 70 deg C. not bottlenecked on thermals now.

One of the best choices
Very soft and leaves a bit of residue, but relatively easy to apply. Think of peanut butter consistency but less sticky.

Dry and not working
The one I get is dry and break a part off to sand when press on it

Putty seems to be dry and crumbly
Maybe it’s a skill issue but the putty seems to be quite dry and crumbly and wouldn’t stick to the GPU VRAM very well
