I bought this set to test it out before gifting one to my niece who is really into art. The convenience of just taking the lid off and painting immediately is unmatched , I would recommend it for anyone who has a young child that likes to paint just for that! However, it is MESSY. The paint has to be stirred and it will overflow into the neighboring cups when doing that. I’ve noticed some cups have more paint than others also, it’s the ones that are actually full that spill over and get everywhere. The colors are great, I think there’s just enough variety to make any color you want very quickly and easily. The paint quality is low for gouache but still good once you figure out which colors are less dense than others etc. overall, what you get for the money is great. I would recommend this on convenience alone.

Would have given a better rating but the box is crap. Hard to open and close and rotten seal.

I love the way this gouache covers! I like the jelly gouache - was introduced to it in a painting class I took. It is a perfect medium!

I have had this set for over 6 months and have found it to be a great beginner set. It was a lot to open all the cups but found that once they were open all the color choices were highly pigmented and were very beautiful when on the page. I liked that there was a small sponge on the inside of the case that did keep the paints wet. However after not using the set for 3 weeks some of the paints did dry out mainly due to the half pan size. Over all I think this was a great set to start out and get used to the medium.

It's amazing!! It has lots of different colours and a great consistency. It's one of those new products you can fuss over. It has a super nice lid and a slidable handle, and that's irrelevant but totally a thoughtful detail worth mentioning. There's a good quantity of paint.

Everything is good but got no paint brushes with it.
