The Asics GEL-NIMBUS 23 shoe comfortably wraps the whole foot like a gentle embrace. This design implies fewer layers of material, which results in a lightweight and breathable upper. It is recommended for runners who want a responsive experience while running.

I should have replaced these 6000 miles ago - but didn't need to
I should have replaced these 6000 miles ago - but didn't need to. I wlk/jog 30000 stepe a day 5 days a week. I have no idea how I managed to have these last so long and am only now noticing a small tear in the toe of the shoe. The interesting thing is that every day I put these on, I notice how they cushion my feet.I took the advice of those before me and ordered a half size larger. I highly recommend these shoes.

Best running shoes
By far the best running shoes I’ve tried. Provides comfort, support and gives that extra bounce when jogging. I’ve suffered from tendon injuries in my ankle but not since wearing the ASICS cumulus line. Previously owned 4 pairs of the 22 version and the 23 lives up to them. Purchased the black & white version so I could pair with black leggings. Normally a size 7 and they fit nicely although tight feeling when you try on but as with the others I’ve owned once you wear them they break in for the perfect fit. I do loosen the strings a tad out of the box.

Sufficient Support for Plantar Fasciitis
I've been having such a hard time finding just the right sneaker for my plantar fasciitis. I've spent so much money on sneakers, insoles, wraps, splints, compression socks, etc. One thing I've learned over this year is that I need something that fits snugly around my achilles tendon. These sneakers are tight enough around the back. Also, they are very cushy on the bottom. I have high arch insoles which I could put into these sneakers, but it is debatable whether they are more comfortable than the cushy insoles you get with these sneakers. I've been ordering sneakers, trying them on and then returning them. I'm very happy to have found these! I ordered a size 9 and a size 9 1/2 so I could try both. I went with the nine and a half so I will have a little bit extra room for my big toe. I spent $80 for these and they are way better than the $150 Brooks sneakers I bought. I think these are really going to help my plantar fasciitis!

Won't work for everybody
First, I wear a medium width running shoe, have flat arches, and narrow heels, so my comments might not apply to other types of feet. I wanted to like this shoe. It was very good looking, lightweight, true to size, and well made. However, two things made me return it.One was the difficulty getting in and out of the shoe because it had a tight sleeve instead of a tongue. I wouldn't have been able to put my foot in without a shoehorn. This could be a good thing for some, but for me, it made the shoe too unforgiving. It seemed too tight on top of my foot and did not allow for any foot swelling. The second reason was that the high heel pad on the shoe hit my achilles with every step and made my achilles sore to the touch. The shoe is a good value and a very nice shoe, if it fits your foot. It just didn't fit mine.

My favorite shoes
I’m a dog walker so I go through shoes really fast. I have been buying ASICS for a while now and this is my favorite version of the gel nimbus. They feel great, nice and light, flexible, and the tight knit holds up much better than the mesh in other versions. My toe doesn’t wear through nearly as fast. The newer versions of the gel nimbus have a very chunky outer heel and I found them to be very disappointing to walk in.I wear custom insoles to support my feet, so I always remove the insole that comes inside, but it seems nice enough.

Nice cushioning for a comfortable run
It's hard to find an athletic shoe with good cushioning these days and that is what I like most about this shoe. It's also hard to find a wide width shoe in an attractive color combination. The grand shark/digital aqua color is fabulous -- matches with so much of my active wardrobe. This Gel-Nimbus isn't as supportive as my old Gel-Nimbus 14s but it is very acceptable. The arch is minimal but adequate for my arch height. There's not a whole lot of bounce when I run but it's very comfortable. They're great for aerobics. The tongue is nicely padded. The laces are stretchy and help achieve a snug fit. There is plenty of room in the toe box for my toes. These shoes aren't perfect but I've tried 6 - 7 pairs and I decided these were the best.

Extremely comfortable shoes with excellent support
I love Asics and most of my athletic shoes are Asics. However these are even more comfortable than all the others. I am a massage therapist and therefore I am on my feet all the time. In these shoes, my feet do not hurt at all after a long work day. My feet underpronate and I learned that this model of shoe is very highly recommended for underpronation. I can see why! I have no ankle soreness or outer foot pain like I usually have do to my underpronation. My feet even feel more stable with them on- no more rolling to the outside of my feet!If you aren't familiar with Asics sizing, they run a tad small. For example I am usually a 10 or 10.5 regular. In Asics I am an 11 Wide. Hope that helps!

Nimbus 23 is Not a good Asics Nimbus model
I have worn Asics, either Kayano or Nimbus) for many years - since approximately 2011. Last September 28th, 2022, I purchased a pair of women's Nimbus 23 through Asics Amazon store. It was the Grand Shark/Digital Aqua. The shoes fit fine. However, after wearing them for a time, I noticed that my right toes were punching forward and uncomfortable in the toebox. I examined the shoe and found that the back upper padding that goes around the ankle had collapsed. I would make sure I pulled the padding up each time I put them on in an effort to make them fit comfortably. I figured it was something I did to make the shoe collapse. It is NOT the entire back...just the foam inside the material.I bought a second pair of the same shoe through the Asics Amazon store. I decided to try them again. However, once again, the back on the right shoe seems to be dropping, and it is pushing my foot forward. For this pair, I made sure each time I put them on that I reached into the shoe and held the foam up to ensure I did not cause the collapse.I would not recommend this Asics Nimbus 23. 1. It did not last very long at all. 2. It becomes a very crowded, uncomfortable shoe...or at least on the right side for me. The left is still ok.I did get them on sale, but the quality of this shoe has caused me to start looking for another brand altogether.
