I've been using the 3 and 4 inch framing screws while renovating about 40 horse stalls. The grip strength and quality is great. Only complaint is they don't sell them by the dump truck. I've used several thousand of these and will continue to do so.

I'll never use a nail again, unless its a nail'mergency. These things are wicked strong in shear and tighten like crazy. Best part!? If you mess up you can simply unscrew it and try again with your frame or whatever.Structural Screws > 16D Nail

It spins, grips, and thrusts itself forward - while not at all as annoying as others who do the same.

The screw started easily and quickly in the 2x3's I was using. They seemed to hold securely. I liked the wafer head, it pulled down the 2x3's flat when tightened without burying the head in the wood, although the head did get driven in to some extent, but not like countersunk head srews would. This feature also helped prevent the screw end from pointing out the other side of the work.

Perfect for screwing down deck rail uprights. Worth what you pay for. Design allows for smaller pieces to be screwed without splitting the smaller pieces.

Awesome screws and came with the drill bit

These screws are NOT 3 inches. They are 2 inches and absolutely useless. I ordered these as part of a major deck project so didn't look inside to measure the screw (who would think to have to do that?). By the time I actually went to use these screws I realized the length was terribly short but the return window at Amazon was 10 days passed. What a gigantic waste of money (and these were $$$). Don't buy these screws. Either Simpson is deceiving you with the length or they have a major manufacturing problem. Either way you won't get what you expect.

Great screws. Loving the pulling power. Work construction and use them all the time.
