- Wuthering Heights (Masterpiece Library Edition)

Purchased as a gift, it was not only a great surprise and read but also now used for decor in their home because it's so pretty!

Five stars because this edition is beautiful, but I'll be honest, I'm just not a fan of Wuthering Heights. I'd give the book itself 2 stars honestly. Even for the 1800s it is an absolute chore to read, and that's coming from someone who loves Jane Austen's work. Wordy doesn't even begin to describe this work. Emily Bronte spends 2 - 3 paragraphs or more explaining the simplest nonsense, dragging out the most benign details. Calling it purple prose would be a gross understatement. It feels like the woman had a thesaurus on her lap while writing. Sorry Emily. :( I just can't wrap my head around why this story is so beloved. I wanted to enjoy it so bad! But reading it gave me a migraine. Anyway, the physical product I ordered here was good quality, and the gilded edges are very pretty. I'll be choosing this format for several other classics in the future, for sure.

Beautiful book looks perfect on my shelf

I was skeptical to buy because the price seemed low for such a beautiful book, but it exceeded my expectations! It feels sturdy, the pages are not thin or frail. Such a beautiful book, I can't wait to finally read this classic!

The gold dust on the pages sticks a little. The hardcover is nice and heavy. I did receive the product incorrectly the first time around so I had to order another one and this time it was send correctly.
