I have used several types and brands of electric tape & braid. This is visible and conducts charge well along or above other fencing. It seems strong as a barrier but a charging animal may pull it away from posts. Check fences often is my advice.

I assume if you are looking at electric fencing you already know everything I can address here. It's flexible and relatively easy to string, but environment and livestock can be tough on it. It has to be replaced periodically so we look at price, durability and how well it works keeping in livestock. (Or keeping out predators and stray deer)I usually use Zareba brand, but thought I'd try this. Side by side it is hard to tell the difference. The weave is about the same. This has 4 stainless steel conductors woven in, vs 5 in Zareba, but this feels stiffer, as if the wire gauge is thicker. Of course we want to be sure that we can deliver the maximum jolt far from the charger, so the thicker gauge has a lower resistance. I have sheep in about a 30 acre split pasture, and the power at the end of 1320 feet of electric tape is usually diminished. The stainless steel has about 20 times the resistance of aluminum. I run a strand of aluminum along with several strands of the 1/2" tape to make sure I get power all the way around the pasture. The tape gives visability, the solid wire strand is lowest to the weeds, sturdier and carries a stronger jolt. Periodically along the perimeter I tie the four strands together to account for breaks, etc.Update: We recently had bad storms. High winds, torrential rain. Limbs came down and snagged the electric fence. Water poured down and tried to wash the fence away. This fencing was so strong it held. I tried to pull it free and was not strong enough. Had to cut the fencing to let the tree branches and washed out debris go down hill, Mending was easy afterwards but I can attest to it's strength. The tape did stretch an extra foot longer compared to the other strands.Side by side, this seems as good as the name brand at an economical price.

The poly tape has excellent visibility - especially for horses which can sometimes have trouble seeing the thinner poly wire (although we have used it on horses also). 4 strands woven in the plastic tape should be ok to deliver the necessary shock (we are running a very hot & high joule charger) so even with it being stainless steel wires (& in a drought) we have not had any issues. It was up for a few weeks in winds and sun without any issues; we are going to put it up again tomorrow in a different area as we use it for temporary fencing in rotational grazing. We wound this tape on one of our mini reels and have mainly used it for horses & sheep as we use our poly wire and poly braid for the cattle. No, it is not as heavy as a name brand 5 wire, but it is also more reasonably priced. It has worked well for us in our temporary applications & I expect it to last many years.

This is a fantastic product. Installs quickly and pulls off the roll with no kinks. It is light weight and connects easily to the base unit. Highly recommend.

This is a review of the HENGTONG Electric Fence Poly Tape Horse Fencing Tape 656 Feet. We live on a working ranch and have decades of firsthand experience with all kinds of fencing. We have used poly tape electric fencing before and think it has its place in certain situations. We normally use aluminum or galvanized steel wire for electric fence, because it comes in 1/4 mile spools for under $20. That said, this is less expensive than some other brand name poly tape.The main reason we use this is for the increased visibility. We happen to be in the middle of putting in a new small pasture for our goats that are nursing babies, and used some of this. Sometimes the solid wire is difficult to see, and predators/livestock might run right through it. Poly tape is much more visible, and lets everyone, both predators and livestock, know there is a fence there. You can see in the photos the difference in visibility. After installing this we think its pretty much the same as the other brand name poly tape, but at a better price. We’re happy with it.

This wire matched the description found at purchase. It worked well. It was easy to maneuver and install. Had good conductivity.

This tape holds up very well to my animals, and offers them a gentle reminder to step back. Super easy to install and power; no electrical transfer from tape to fence, unless they're actually touching and looks much better than the standard wire.
