Functional
Bought 2 of these for my husband and son who are in the fire safety business. This multimeter is just as good and useful as one with the brand name on it.

Really versatile meter with 1% or better accuracy
I’ve been using electrical measuring equipment since I assembled a Heathkit VTVM (vacuum tube volt meter) over 6 decades ago. My equipment ranges from cheap handheld analog VOMs to a DVM accurate to better than 0.1%. The range of capabilities of this meter intrigued me, so I ordered it to evaluate its performance. Of particular interest was its ability to measure capacitance and frequency. The meter is powered by 3 included AAA cells. Unlike another meter I tested recently, the probes on this one have heavy insulation, and I would not be concerned using them to measure 240VAC. They use insulated safety banana plugs at the meter so there is no chance of accidentally touching an exposed conductor. But the meter also accepts standard banana plugs, which made my testing easier because I could use standard clip leads rather than the pointed probes. I like that it included two replacement fuses for the current measurements because I’ve popped a few over the years.Compared against my Keithley DVM, all measurements were within the spec, but that is just .5% of reading + 5 digits for DC, and 1% of reading + 4 digits for AC. In all cases this meter read about .5% higher than the Keithley on DC. AC accuracy was better, about .3% high in the 12VAC to 48VAC range, and almost dead on at 110VAC and 125VAC. Measuring 1% resistors from 100 ohms to 100K ohms, the accuracy was better than .5% compared against the Keithley. Frequency measurements were impressive, agreeing almost exactly with my laboratory frequency meter from 120Hz to 120KHz. But what was most impressive was the capacitance measurement. I have some 330pF 1% capacitors, and I was surprised that this meter measured them within 1% of that value. Another capacitor meter I have has a bias, and I have to subtract the open circuit reading from the measurement to get the actual value. The temperature measurement agreed within 1 degree of the wall thermostat. I didn’t check the accuracy of current measurements.Operationally, I like that this meter has an OFF at both ends of the dial, but I would prefer the voltage measurements on the left because that would be the same as my other DVMs. The probes clip into the back to prevent dangling wires from snagging on something.. Bottom line, this is one impressive meter, and it will likely become my favorite handheld DVM.

Good value, easy to use
Everybody should have a multi-meter at home. This one is a good value.Solid enough.Easy to use.I would recommend it!

Works great
I’m just a beginner but I love the features on this one 100% more than the other cheapo that fried in my hands.

Excellent quality
I picked this up for testing my AC unit that died in the high heat. Found out with help of YT videos it was the capacitor that had blown. This multimeter saved me and was very accurate. I never used one before but it was an quick and easy setup. Five stars.

For the price, this is great!
This isn't going to be my favorite multimeter, but its easily my favorite at this price point ($17). But come to think of it, I prefer it over one that was 4-5x the price. Its compact, with simple intuitive controls. The labeling could be larger print (my eyes aren't as good as they used to be), but that would require the whole thing be bigger. I like the device small, so small print is the cost. The temp measurement works without plugging in the remote temp sensor. It must have another sensor inside it.The temp defaults to Celsius instead of Farenheight, but its easy to switch. The voltage defaults to DC - which you may or may not like. When I just set to measure volts and plugged it into the wall outlet (120vac) it was intermittently telling me it was 12vdc. But it clearly wasn't committed to that reading. So I looked closer at the screen and saw it said DC. Apparently all the autoranging doesn't autodetect between AC and CD.The Non-Contract Voltage doesn't measure the voltage. Meaning it doesn't tell you what the voltage in the wire is. It just tells you that there is something electrified close to the sensor. The screw in the battery cover is not captive. That means when you take the battery cover off, the screw can fall out of the cover and get lost. You can easily find a multimeter that corrects all my my grumbles. But it's hard to find something this nice and usable at this price point. There's a highly rated multimeter from HF that's also a dial + 3 buttons. Its at $20. Personally I think this one looks slightly better than the HF unit, but I expect their equal on functinality. At the current price of $17, I'll give it 5 stars. For each $5 increase in price, I'd take off 1/2 to 1 star.
