I've tried other wifi smart home cameras and always seem to encounter issues, from difficult set-up to poor picture quality to app issues. I haven't had any of those with this camera. It's the perfect wifi camera for a non-techy person like me. Set-up was an absolute breeze. The hardest part was figuring out exactly where I wanted to put it. I'm impressed with the picture quality. It's just as crystal clear in night mode as it is during the day and the night mode turns on automatically, so I don't have to mess with anything. It really is a plug and go camera. I've got this set-up in the living room, so I can see what my teenagers are doing when I'm not home. The 2 way audio function is perfect for when they don't answer their phones. I love scaring the crap out of them by using it. They can hear me clearly and I can hear them too. The motion detection is sensitive, so I never miss anything that's going on. The Vivitar home app is easy to use and I love that I get push notifications right on my phone to keep me up-to-date. The best part of the whole camera is the FREE, let me say that again FREE, cloud service that stores my recordings. Unlike other cameras, like Ring, you don't have to pay to actually have the camera keep the recordings. I'm impressed with this little camera and the services it comes with. You can't go wrong with this wifi smart home camera.

Got this to keep an eye on our home when we are out since we are very rural, even a trip only for grocery shipping takes a few hours. We had noticed a few times that things had been moved on our porch, and I had missing deliveries at times. That and also because it works on IOS and android (we are a house divided my husband is die hard android and I prefer my iPhone). I have had no issues with using this camera, it is small and compact but still provides me with clear images. My husband likes the peace of mind that he can also check up on things should he need to be away from my son and I too. You will need to subscribe to cloud service or use a SD card in order to save images. Easy to use even if you are not tech savvy. I am 39 years old and I am probably the least tech savvy person my age, I often find tech devices intimidating and hate updates and changes to apps and things I use. I was able to get this going without any help, the instructions provided walked me through the entire set up. The only thing I will note is I would have liked the cord to be just a little longer for my use. But I was able to just get a longer Micro-usb cord to use with it. Depending on your needs that maybe something you want to do as well. I have had no issues or any need for customer support. The night vision for me is okay but I use it during the day mostly when I am out, and since I am generally home at night I really don't bother with it much at night anyway. Save the yellow card with technical support information on it just in case you need it (I almost tossed mine not paying attention to what it was). Good value for the money, would be a good gift option for anyone wanting even a nanny cam for their nursery or someone wanting a small camera to keep an eye on things while they are away. Comes well packaged in a square box that would wrapping easy. Comes with everything you need to use it!

This product sucks now since you rarely get 2g anywhere anymore. Even Xfinity 2g isn't all that great and you have a choice either use 2g or 5 g. Then they expect you to keep it connected through your cell phone. WHY? Because you're product sucks. You can't even get it to connect . I've tried so many times that I have up. So basically I paid for a piece of crap I can't use. Go figure....

This makes my 4th camera. For in house the camera and app works well. Unable to get listen function to work but haven't tried to reload app, just because of time. Good day and night picture.

We have three of these. Once set up they are easy to use but app would not let us select which wireless network to use so we had to reset a few times before it picked up the network we wanted to use. These will record video on an SD card but you cannot replay video without cloud service or without removing the SD card and converting the video file. Good for monitoring areas around the house in real time but video playback with out cloud service requires more advanced computer skills than the average user.

I have these at my house, they work perfect when I’m not home and I need my sisters kids to get in my house after school. It lets me know when they come in. I also own a bar business and I use these cameras as well and they are just wonderful. They have not given me any troubles. I would say it’ definitely payed off.

These cameras are kind of useless. They function great! However, if I knew that you CAN'T view the feeds from a laptop or download the feed to a storage device, I NEVER would have bought FIVE cameras!!

My young daughter has an ant farm that needs to stay in the dark, so we bought this camera for decent resolution and built in IR light source. We set it up in a dark closet and it works perfectly. She installed the App on her IPod and can view her farm from anywhere that has a Wi-Fi connection. I expect that it will work equally well as a security camera.
