Sumiundo 24078 Art Pottery Inkstone Set of 3

I use ink sticks of various brands and colors. When I first discovered ink sticks and grinding stones I had no idea that the black ink stones could taint the color of the ink. I don't know if this is common but I have experienced it with more than one black stone. It's possible the stone itself grinds away microscopically, or more likely the stone was dyed to make it a uniform black which then bled into the delicate colors (I had never used a black ink stick in them prior to that so it was not a factor of cleanliness).These are elegant to look at, very functional for what they do and as I mentioned they do not bleed into the colors you might be using.It was surprisingly hard to find a grinding stone that was not black, in fact as far as I have been able to discover it is the only brand & model. It is the perfect companion for the Kuretake ink stick collection or any others that you decide on.It is in fact porcelain/ceramic so you will need to be careful of breaking or/or chipping. But it's the kind of thing that will last a lifetime if you care for it.
