I have tried so many different types of water filtering over the years and never seemed to be satisfied. So far, it works!! My water tastes better (previously there was a moldy taste to it) and my hair and scalp are responding like something is wonderful - and I did not change shampoo! Every time I wash my hair it is less fragile and less static. So it has only been two weeks but I am very pleased and HOPEFUL for the long-term outcome!

I bought this system for my mom's house. It was easy to install and so far works great.

The instructions call for a professional installation. I ignored that part of the instructions and installation was easy. Shut-off valves and Pex components are good quality. You will need some ¾" Pex pipes, a tool to cut the Pex, ¾" crimp rings and a ¾" Pex Crimping Tool to complete the installation (or a plumber ;-) I have city service for water. The water is not hard, is pretty good, but defineately has an after taste to the unfiltered water. This filter system removed all of the after taste. All of the house water (cold and hot) is filtered by this system. The water tastes great wether directly from the tap or through the fridge dispenser and there is no noticeable drop in presuure. Shortly after the install, we had a ruptured water main. The supply lines completely seperated from the city line and mud was forced into our water lines. The 20" pre filter prevented a catastrophe. The water in the house was never turbid and none of the faucets, fridge (with water dispenser) or laundry machines were damaged by the dirty water.

I wanted to wait awhile before writing this because I wanted to see how the system performed. I did have a my well company install it. It took him much of the day. I know, it seems pretty straight forward but after watching him, I'm glad I had them do it. I will say that this system is designed to be installed indoors hence the system being designed for Plex piping. You can not use this outside because it deteriorates in the sun. I didnt have a place inside for it. so he converted it over to regular PVC which was easy. Buying this system I fully understood what it was for and what it did and what it did not do. I understood this is a water conditioning filter not a water softener (like the traditional salt based water softener). As an earlier reviewer noted, it does bring the hardness of the water down a little bit. You can tell its softer but not a lot and it certainly doesn't have the slimy feel of the traditional water softener. Our well is in mud hole basically. The water is full of orange iron laced sediment. This system handles it beautifully. While the desolved solids are not removed, the water is restructured in such a way that the build up of lime on the fauchets, toilets and toilet bowl have been slowed down and some cases removed. The water tastes good and the carbon filter of the system polishes the water. It is super clear and delicious. I read one one review that showed dark water in the toilet, The only thing I can think of is when it was installed the carbon filter was not flushed long enough before plumbing it to the house. It did take quite a long time for it to run clear during installation. Longer than the 15 minutes the instructions said. The flow is really good, much better then I expected. Even with the amount of sediment coming out of the well, the prefilter lasted a good couple months before the element needed changed. I did not have to change the post filter at that time. Even though we are on a well, I did not get or want the UV element that is an option. The reason is because I do not feel it is effective for very long. I was a marine aquarist for many years and tried using UV to clean up some tank problems. It worked for about a week until the UV Tube lost its UV output. The tube can appear perfectly fine. It can show that it's lit, etc but it not killing anything. Thats just my experience. But for someone that needs water treatment and does not want the salt, sliminess and hassle of a traditional water softener, this system is perfect.

Had this system in for a week and very happy, I passed on the water conditioning and uv add one because people complained about taste and flow issues. I personally love my water now. It has zero taste, not even chlorine, better than bottled water in my opinion. Just feels like you have something wet cold and refreshing in your mouth. As far as flow issues. I haven’t noticed any change in my water pressure n any part of my 2 bath two story home. Both shower running dishwasher and laundry and plenty of pressure. If your the diy type and have done a water heater then you can probably do this yourself. Kit comes with everything show to connect pre post and tank filters together. The shut off valves reducer and t connector are all pex. If you was to run pvc or copper you would need to connect manufacturers to get different fitting mailed out. Also have to buy your own crimp rings and a crimper and a stick of pipe for the bypass loop. I’m didn’t own a crimper so this project cost me an additional 100$ at the hardware store with the crimper tool being 50$. I honestly feel like it would of cost the same to have a plumber install because he would have that tool snd material already. As far as assembly I’d like to start by saying read instructions, I skimmed, I flushed as requested per instructions then I assembled as I would of installing water heater, then the next day I read the instructions before going to the hardware store to get the crimp rings I needed for pex conversion. Clearly stated in instructions it says use thread tape and do not use pipe dope. Well I had already used pipe dope so figured I’d give it a try anyway because I’ve never had it fail me before, sure enough it was right. I had leaks at both reducers from 1” to 3/4” ends. I disassemble and wiped relatively clean, put thread tape on on all threaded connections and no issues since
