Exceptional!
A bittersweet masterpiece! I had the opportunity to watch the tv adaptation of Kusturica's 'Time of the Gypsies' years ago. Therefore, I was so happy to find a copy of the 6-episode version of 'Underground'! What a treat!

Perfection
Amazing release. One of my all time favourites that I have spent much time over the years hunting down having come across it on late night telly. Finally rhe DVD was realeased which was great, and never exepcted anything else the as it always seemed a lost gem. Soooo, I'm extremely happy to have stumbled across this release, which looks and sounds great, but also to have the series included as well is just amazing. Thank you for this, always great to see these films redone as best as they can.Just in case anyone important ever reads this, a decent digital release of Naked Tango would be good too.

BFI BluRay PLUS 6 Episode MiniSeries!!!
BFI, I totally, freaking LOVE you guys!!! This print of UNDERGROUND is as gorgeous as they come. The mere existence of the 6 Episode Miniseries -never even found on Black Market sources- is cause for celebration but this looks GREAT! As close to film as I've ever seen. I went slowly, watched the series over three nights and boy, is there a lot there! Several awesome sequences left on the cutting room floor are restored to make the linear narrative clear and decisive. The film, of course, deserves every accolade heaped upon it AND I can see why various factions were hot under the collar at the lack of political side taking. This is the "War is Hell" philosophy played for darkest possible comedy, with whirling platforms, cameras, and choruses, gorgeous music by Goran Bregovic and great acting all around. Everybody throws their entire selves into the fray and the result is delirious! Great film making and a Joy to watch and listen to. Thank you, thank you, BFI!!!

When the real is an alternative fact...
The way it starts says it all. Bang! Swoooooch! Haaaaaa! Animals all around... A veritable deluge of violence... Money being thrown and a band creating atmosphere all over. Yes! Intense! Comic! Perverse! The recurring Nazi... The line dance... Croatia celebrating/Serbia enduring... A world... The top is Yugoslavia benefitting from the riches of a false society... The underground: its population living in the darkness. A dance and a celebration of the human condition... All our societies are but illusions that any crisis can evaporate and separate... A celebration of our bestial nature... Be aware: this is type of production explodes (is explosive), intenses, infuriates and animates...

Blu-Ray Must Have Edition!!!!
Great edition. This is the most complete edition that contains everything you will regard the film. The quality of images, sounds at the highest level. I'm very happy that edition contained the complete series on the bonus disc, which has never and nowhere did not appear on any issue. For fans of Kusturica's Underground, and this is simply a Must Have.
