TPO welder
It is a great welder it is a little unwieldy but I was able to do my own TPO roof with about 800 dollars I paid a helper. It is a good machine. Recommend

The Real Deal
I have a project coming up requiring me to build several boxes out of 1/4 inch HDPE. I have a standard heat gun used for shrink wrap and other things, and it goes up to about 450 degrees Celsius. That should have been enough to melt HDPE. But it wasn't touching it. So I purchased this with it's several attachments. I was really curious about the 5mm Speedtip and it it could use 3/16 instead of 1/8 inch rods. I had read that you could only use 1/8 inch rods in a 5mm tip. Not true. I put 3/16 inch HDPE in this Speedtip and turned it up to 4 on the heat setting. That's about 350 degrees Celsius. The heat gun goes up to 9. I decided to test it on the bottom of my wheel barrel. As you can see, the bead is slick as glass with a 3/16 rod and the heat gun had no problem at all. I do have a 30 years background in welding metal, but the instructions were very clear and YouTube can help anyone make some excellent plastic welds with this heat gun. Very powerful. The one thing to remember though is to turn off the heat and let the fan run for a few minutes to cool down the heating element before shutting it completely off.

Used this welder to fix two HDPE plastic showshovels and added extra reinforcing material to strengthen. Easy to use and temperature adjuatible for Nylon, Plexulass, Poly carbonate, Low desity polyethylene LDPE, high density poly ethylene HDPE, PETE, ABS plastic, etc. Just google the polymer melt temp. Watch YouTube videos of hot air plastic welding HOW TO info.
