Tough lightweight and kneepad ready. Great option for hard work in the Arizona desert
Not heavy like duck cotton carpenter & painter pants I've worn for years while working outside in all Arizona weather. Heavy pants like those protect me from almost everything but are super hot and uncomfortable especially when I sweat through & dry out twice a day. And as a rattlesnake fence installer, I had to wear separate kneepads and I've tried just about all of them from inside the pant volleyball types to outside construction-type double straps - even gel types. They all suck.Wanted a better option and wasn't sure how these lightweight pants would work that work out to about twice the cost. They are worth every penny I spent. The important high impact parts at the ankles, knees and waistline are strong materials that haven't let anything stab me. The other parts including the jewel pouch is thin, light and airy so heat retention is not an issue and they don't feel heavy at all. They don't bind up at the beltline and dig into my guts. The add-on 30 dollar kneepads are completely effective and are the primary reason I chose these candy bar branded pants w/ kneepad pouches. The 30 bucks is about what normal kneepads cost and those kind hurt the backs of your legs, the whole knee area front and back is super hot - all day long.I did have concerns about the kneepad pouches filling up with dirt or gravel and get between the pad and my knees but it has never happened. The pouch design is excellent at keeping debris out even when I drag my legs through all of that stuff for hundreds of feet a day. The pads go in and come out super easy and the overlap is just the right size. Just line up the velcro when you wash them and when you put the pads in and the day goes well. The pockets seem weird at first but like a good set of bags, you figure them out and create a new normal. They are a better configuration than typical carpenter duck pants and the pockets are fine for lots of uses. There are a few good places to put the cell phone that are quick enough to get to + one that's super accessible. That last one though, well it has a fun fact. The location of the volume buttons coincides with the top edge of the pocket so when I move a certain way the volume will turn up full blast of down to nothing in a couple of seconds. I don't put the phone there if I'm kneeling. I'll put it in the left front lower pocket instead. It's got a big strap to pull it open and it flaps over pretty far so nothing gets in there to grind on the phone. These pants don't hurt or don't get hot anywhere. That's reason enough for me to say yes to the switch from duck + separate strap kneepads to these all-in-one's.I bought another pair + an extra set of knee pads to have on hand just in case.If you work on your knees for any amount of time - do it. Pay a bit more and get some of these.

Inconsistent sizing
I bought my first pair sized 34W34L. Absolutely loved it. I bought a second pair and it was a whole 2 inches shorter. I'm in the process of returning it. It's a shame as it really seems like a good pair of pants and I'm hesitant to buy another.

Very comfortable
Pants are very comfortable and offer great flexibility. On my wish-list, and perhaps they have it, would be the same pair of pant w sewn in pockets.
