Soooooo pretty - no gel polish or gel topcoat needed!
These Twinkled T flakes can be used over regular nail polish and under either a regular topcoat or a no-wipe helps topcoat, if you prefer. Like all holographic flakes, they’re messy to use and the jar looks really small, but even if you apply a dense layer of these “flakies” to all 10 nails, you’ll get many manicures from one little jar. I always apply these flakes on a tray covered with paper to contain the flyaway flakes and the excess that I brush off so I can return them to the jar after I’ve finished my manicure. I apply base coat and one thin layer of colored polish and let dry completely. Next, I add a second thin coat of colored polish, wait briefly just until it’s tacky and then apply these holo flakes. I use the corner of an inexpensive fan brush to pick up a small pile of flakes and gently “dump” them onto the tacky polish, repeat as needed to cover the whole nail, then use a foam eyeshadow applicator to pat down the flakes and smooth them onto the tacky polish, then rub/burnish the surface to get it as smooth as possible. I use a pointed orange stick tip to nudge away any flakes that partially stick out over the cuticle. Then I use the edge of the fan brush to brush away any “flake fallout” from the surrounding skin on my fingers. Finally, I add one or two thin layers of a very shiny topcoat (I like Deborah Lippmann’s Addicted to Speed or Hard Rock topcoats, but any thin, glossy topcoat will work) and let dry thoroughly. (If you go with a no-wipe gel topcoat, you’ll need to cure it instead.) Gorgeous holographic sparkle and shine! Try it over different base coat colors for subtly different effects.
