Classic Distortion with Modern Versatility
The KOKKO Distortion Pedal delivers sharp tones that work great for classic metal and modern rock. With its simple controls—Tone, Level, and Gain—it’s easy to dial in a solid distortion sound. I found that keeping the Gain knob under 50% helps avoid high-pitched feedback, but you can push it higher if you want a rawer, more aggressive feel. The Tone knob works best when set higher, adding clarity and presence to your sound, especially for leads. The Level knob does a great job of boosting the overall signal, and when paired with the bridge pickup, it really brings out a sharper, more cutting tone. On its own, this pedal gives you a solid rock distortion with a modern edge, but if you pair it with your amp’s distortion or throw in a compressor, it can work well for modern metal too. It’s versatile enough to earn a spot on your pedalboard, depending on how you shape it. For the price, it’s a great deal and definitely holds its own. It’s compact, well-built, and delivers tones that sound way better than you’d expect at this price point. Check out my demo video to hear how it handles clean tones and distortion—you’ll hear just how much this pedal can add to your setup.

Pretty heavy
Sounds ok, didn't work at first because it doesn't like cheap cords.

Way better than the price indicates
I'm here partly to balance out the "where's muh cord?" people. Guitar effects pedals don't come with power adapters. Learn it, live it. As for the pedal, just a regular old cheap distortion pedal with the added benefit of sounding a lot better than many of its ilk. In fact it sounds more articulate and less buzzy than, say, a Wampler Phenom, which has a retail price 4X higher, aims for similar tonal territory, makes more electrical noise and sounds like it has a cocked wah behind it.

Used it twice, Died the third time
Used this pedal twice just to practice with, and it seemed fine. Didn't play it again for about 9 months while it sat on a shelf. Went to play it, now doesn't work. Power light comes on, works in bypass, but step on the switch, and nothing. I would not recommend anything that breaks while sitting in a box on a shelf.
