As long as this is the right bulb for the bug zapper you have, it works great! Don't buy the aftermarket ones that are only half the wattage, you're just reducing your coverage area. Replacement wasn't bad, you just have to remove to top and the plastic basket, 4 screws, push the tabs down to remove the basket and unclip the clips. My bulb broke in my hand trying to pull it out. I had to use a flat head screwdriver to pry between the base of the bulb and the fixture going around until it came loose.

So, I've tried those black-light style bulbs from different sellers online and sadly, most are just terribly low quality. They're also very dim, not really designed or attracting insects. Flowtron bulbs are a much brighter bulb and honestly do an incredible job at attracking six legged menaces. I noticed the difference in just one night, as the volume of insects attracted by the Flowtron bulb was much greater. I was so happy with the Flowtron bulbs, I ordered their larger bug zapper designed for two acres. Flow products are manufactured in the USA, so I would highly recommend purchased their zappers over those made overseas. Their support is excellent and you know the coolest thing about Flowtron, is you can order replacement parts, ie, transformers, bulbs, etc...

Previous review was for a different product! Ah, old age what a beautiful thing! These bulbs are a perfect fit for my Flowtron bug zapper. This is the second time I have ordered them. I was surprised to receive 2 bulbs when I was only expecting one. It pays to read the description better!

My Flowtron Bug Killer has a built-in light sensor so it will only turn on at night. This bulb was only used for ~9hrs a day during the 1.5months I used it. I bought this bulb in April of 2019 and I had it in storage until mid-May of 2021; when I started using it in my Bug killer. About 2-weeks ago (July 1, 2021) the bulb started flashing on and off. It never really went DEAD, but, flashed on/off with different parts of it never coming back on while others did go on/off... The bulb only lasted about 1.5months... I would have called Flowtron about it, but, I bought it 2 years ago and didn't use it until this year. It pays buy stuff and use it during the warranty period.... This is unusual- in the 40+ years I (and my family) have been using Flowtron (and other) bug killers I've never seen a bulb only last less than 1 or 2 seasons! Obviously this bulb was defective. I have since bought another bulb (from another vendor- this one (Amazon?) is out of stock) and it's working fine so far.

I, like most people, bought an awesome Flowtron bug zapper, then after a year had a bad bulb. Shocked to find out the replacement bulb is almost 30$. I see how this would make the company quite rich, as there are no cheaper alternatives out there, so what choice does someone have. This bulb is white, where the bulb I did have was a blacklight, so now I'm having to move the bug zapper off the porch as it's an eye sore. In the end the job is done, and it works good, but you can't tell me the company isn't making a huge profit from these, costs almost as much as I paid for the zapper, and it would be nice if the black light version for those of us who have to hang it within reach of power near a window.

Our bug zappers are a treasured tool against mosquitoes, black flies, deer flies and horse flys. The bulb replacements are integral to maintaining this tool. We have had the bug zapper for 12 years and have reduced the insects in the yard significantly everyday, year after year!!! Great bulbs!

UV bulbs last for a 6 month season. Very effective in Flowtron Bug zapper!
