incredibly bright and easy to spot underwater, making it much easier for my dive buddy and the group to keep track of each other in the dark. The constant and flashing modes are both useful depending on the dive conditions, and the light is compact, lightweight, and easy to attach to my gear. It stayed secure throughout the entire dive and provided excellent visibility. If you do any night diving, this is a must-have safety accessory. It's reliable, bright, and gives you extra peace of mind underwater. I highly recommend it.

This isn't cheap plastic it’s actual solid aluminum. It feels like a mini version of a high-end primary light. I’ve banged it against tank racks and rocks, and it barely has a scratch. The O-rings are Beefy (with a capital B), and so far, it’s been bone dry after 10+ dives. It’s bright, your dive buddies will definitely see you. I usually keep it on the constant mode so I don't look like a floating disco ball, but the strobe is great for marking the anchor line so you can actually find the boat at the end of the night. It takes a single AAA. Thank God. I just use a rechargeable one and swap it every couple of days. No more hunting for weird lithium coin cells. The Switch is just a twist on the head. It’s simple. I’ve used it with thick gloves and didn’t have to fumble around for a tiny button. It’s tiny. I just leave it clipped to my BC all the time. If you’re on the fence, just get it. It’s way better for the ocean than those one-time chemical glow sticks and it’ll probably last you years.

The Orcatorch tank light on my first dive with it worked pretty well. It is priced right, small and very compact. It has a solid on/blinking light option. We used one for our tanks and my buddy used the blinking mode to mark a guide rope. They aren't as bright as other types but they are compact, easy to use. Battery is a common AAA battery and not an odd type to try finding. I also like the color options to use for identifying other divers or an ascent line for wreck diving.

As you can see in the video, the light is not very bright, and in daytime would not really help locating your buddy. At night or in an overhead environment, it is great however -- bright enough to be seen, not so bright as to blind you.

Works amazingly well, no leaks, extremely bright underwater, makes tracking my wife alot easier when we are in low light.

SD01 Mini Glow Tank:  Overview: Most of my local dives in the cold depths of Puget Sound equate to night dives regardless of what time of day it is. After 60 feet or so the light starts to fade and the blackness begins to envelop you. I wanted a simple and effective way for my buddy to be able to see and track me in these dark conditions. I found the Orcatorch SD01 and thought it was a great concept and wanted to give it a try. So how did the SD01 do? The overall quality feels durable and solid in hand. The threading screws together with ease. It came with lubricated double o-rings that should help keep it watertight at depth. You can use the provided lanyard Finish: The finish shows little wear after multiple dives. Final Thoughts: Pros: •Bright and sustainable output. •Solid build quality •Good Size. Small enough to travel with. Very lightweight. •Twist On/Off for easy use. •Includes one aaa battery •Long 108-hour runtime allows for multiple dives before needing new batteries. •Adds safety to any dive •150m rated depth makes this usable to technical and recreational divers. •Good value Con’s: •A rechargeable 14500 battery would be more efficient and add very little size. It would make the battery rechargeable. •Strobe pulse speed is not controllable. It is faster than I would prefer. •Light is one color only. Multiple colors in a single unit would be a nice option. •A non-pulse, always-on glow stick-like option would be a nice feature.

Surprisingly exceeded my expectations!! Got this tank light in Green color version. This beast runs on AAA battery and very handy when you travel and not bring extra charging cable. I use this on my night dives and even day dives which is every weekend. Easy to operate, just simply twist for turning it on. Twist for a steady light and twist again if you want a strobe. Tighten it after the dive to turn it off. It is easily seen and bright enough that my dive buddies see me a few feet away especially when I venture off and look for critters. Very simple and it performs as it was intended. This is a perfect little tank light for my diving. This will be a great gift for your dive buddy this Christmas. 100% a must have in your dive bag. Seems well built and easy to use, but just wasn't what I was expecting. It may be a good replacement for a chem light when night diving, but that's pretty much it. It's barely bright enough to tell whether it's even on in full daylight, so I doubt it would even be useful outside of night dives or in overhead situations.

A must for any low visibility diving

I got three of these when I started night dives last year. We use them in flashing mode and they are bright and visible. I love that they use a standard AAA battery. After about 30 dives one of them stopped working, when I reached out to the seller they were responsive and quick to send a replacement. Highly recommended.
