Bandai Hobby #162 HGAC XXXG-01W Wing Gundam Model Kit, 1/144 Scale

HGAC 1/144 scale Wing Gundam is awesome, if not on the small side. the figure is fairly articulated for its size while still retaining a beautiful amount of detail. I myself am new to Gundam models but I enjoyed putting this guy together. got a bit confused a couple of times but that was due to my own mistakes. but in the end the figure is beautifully sculpted and will indeed pull off the bird mode transformation.My only issues were the bird mode feet on the arms, they often get in the way of the arm articulation and I question their durability, so I've removed them and put them in a baggy in the box for storage, it looks just as good without them but that's just me and hate to have them break. one of them is showing the hing parts is tearing off, mind you I done nothing with them but attach them to the parts they should be on. so I question the durability of the yellow parts. some of these said parts however don't make up the whole body luckily. so that much is good. but keep in mind this isn't a toy for rough child hands. this is an late teen to adult display figure and is meant to be displayed and bring character your shelf and room.the one issues I think new comers to gundam models in general are the V crest on the head. I had a lot of trouble getting that thing on and it instead insisted on falling out a lot. mind you these are small figures. and in the end you WILL need glue to keep the V crest on.for the more experienced model makers and Customizers out there, the model does have many opportunities for dry brushing and repaints. maybe even a kit-bash or complete rebuild with new parts? but I will say the figure is great on its own.in the end I do recommend this figure for Those who enjoy Models, Gundam, Giant Robots, or cool things in general. building the model can be tricky but the end result is very rewarding, accomplishing and just cool for display.

Cons:-Hands are a pain to pose because they keep "breaking apart". However, I do think glue can fix the problem-Very small pieces that if fall on the floor will be lost forever.-Small, but keep in mind is a 1/144 model, if you want a bigger gundam you can find it ;)-Doesn't come with stand.-No backup pieces.Pros:-Easy to build-Requires VERY LITTLE painting, but it will still look awesome.-Can transform into bird mode ! :D-The shield DOES open like in the anime.-IT'S THE MOTHERF*CKING WING GUNDAMDespite the hands can fall apart easy, it is a great model. BE CAREFUL when you build it, because the parts from the head are very tiny and if you loose then you will have a gundam without the characteristic yellow-thing. It was my first gunpla and I love it, if you watched the anime when it aired on Tv like I did then this will bring memories.Also, keep in mind this is a model NOT A TOY, which means you have to be VERY CAREFUL when you pose him, otherwise it might break. I would recommend to purchase the stand too in order to be able to pose him in bird mode and flying. The transformation is nothing complicated, once you learn it it will only take a minute or so.If you can afford this then WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, ITS WORTH EVERY PENNY AND MORE :D

Whether you are a fan of the Gundam Wing series or not, this High Grade model kit does a great job of representing the anime series' lead Mobile suit.The Good:-Great presentation after a straight-build without additional paint or panel lining-Above-average articulation in both the upper and lower body-Attractive, sleek proportions-Offers a transforming gimmick that does not hamper the model's solidity nor ability to pose-Like other High Grade Gunpla models, it's beginner friendlyThe Bad-Limited torso articulation-Lean accessory count-Some may find the transformed Bird-mode underwhelming-They provide two beam effect parts yet only give you one beam saber handle; no duel wielding options for the beam sabers-Slightly tricky to pose the legs since the bendable knees were designed for both posing and for the transforming gimmickThis is a fantastic HG kit for any Gunpla fan, whether experienced or new. It's an easy build with a solid-looking Gundam model as the end-product.The only reason to avoid this kit as a Gunpla fan is if you already have the Master Grade Wing Gundam or if you don't like the Wing Gundam.

Hands down my favorite model to date. Its transformable, posable, looks great, and super stable!!! Only issue I had and you need to watch out for is with his yellow forehead horns. Its secured into the head by a tiny red center piece and pops out extremely easy when you go to transform it, ( I almost lost the tiny red piece several times...). I put a little model glue on the inside of the head where they poked through and I have had no problems since. But other than that, they did a fantastic job designing this build and is a must have for any gunpla/ gundam wing fan!!! :)

This was a nostalgic build for me, and I enjoyed the process a fair bit, however this kit had some issues.First, while trying to attach the waist to the torso, I found that the slot is too small and required a little TLC for the parts to fit together. I had to repeat this process a couple times on multiple parts, using a small sanding bit from my dremel tool. This was by far the biggest issue, and for the most part the kit was a fairly simple assembly.Some bits are a little loose when assembled, the yellow parts on the chest would simply fall right off and required glue. Most of the joints are fairly stable, and hold position, but the shoulders will pop out during posing.The overall detail is slightly lacking, and may require small amounts of paint and lining to really let the kit shine.

At first I was surprised that Amazon had these sets. I first began collecting and building them, and when I thought I never find them here. Think again, good price, cool set. Easy to have fun with ^^

My first entry into the "Gunpla" model building as a new hobby, absolutely loving the fact these kits are detailed enough to make beginners feel satisfied and accomplished once built. Couldn't fault the model on any aspect, everything fits and no issues with missing parts, being a Gundam Wing fan I just couldn't resist the urge to get the Leo aswell ( see 2nd picture ) to create alittle action pose with Wing Gundam. Looking forward to panel detailing this kit and make it really stand out.Also excellent service by the seller, can't fault them for getting this kit to me as were at opposite sides of the world. Would purchase from again.

This is my second Gunpla built. I’m a fan of Gundam Wing and also of this mobile suit, so I wanted to have one and it does the job!
