Hallmark Keepsake Christmas Ornament 2024, Sky's the Limit CallAir A-2, Hobby Gifts

Being the nerd that I am, I've long admired this series of scale model airplane ornaments, in particular the ones that were race planes in the 1930's. The Hall Bulldog is a fairly obscure racer, but certainly one of the most unique examples from the early 30's. They did a nice job on this one -- my only complaint is that it seems larger compared to previous releases. This is no problem if you're hanging it on a tree -- but if you display the models in a row on a shelf (and I'm guessing I'm not the only one), the Bulldog is taller and "bulkier" than any of the other seven I have. In any event, I hope Hallmark continues this series, and I will be a likely purchaser. One other note, these are surprisingly sturdy -- at a glance, they seem like they might be on the fragile side. So far, I haven't managed to break one.

"Uncommon" is perhaps an understatement; 144only 16 of these were built. This is a nice model at what looks to be something a bit larger than 1:144 scale. I only wish that a finish other than the copper/brass tone had been used. It makes the plane look like nothing more than a toy, even though it's a good replica of the real aircraft. I have yet to find a photo of a real CallAir-2 with this finish. I suspect that the real airplane was never finished this way.

The ornament’s quality is in keeping with that of all the previous ornaments.

My husband is a pilot so I get him the Hallmark Keepsake plane ornament every year. This year it arrived in a soaking wet flattened mailing pkg thrown in our driveway but it survived okay.

Good item description. Ornament was shipped quickly and appears to be in like new condition. Very good seller. Prompt shipping. I needed this ornament to complete the collection of this series, as my local store had sold out last year of the "Sky's the limit ornament." Fair price.

I buy my dad the annual airplane ornament from this collection every year. I’m always impressed with the quality and detail! They don’t feel “cheap” like some other ornaments I’ve seen over the years.

Item received in a brown postal bag. The box was completely squished in. Plane is only wrapped in tissue paper, no plastic packaging … the plane seems intact and is fine for my husband’s yearly cmas gift… do better amazon with shipping…
