Review: Nice pans - I purchased this set of sauce pans for use in a caravan as having a detachable handle makes storage very easy. I will not be using these at home but a review based on cooking in a caravan may be more useful to some. The bases of the pans are thick so do take a while to get to temperature when using calor gas on a caravan cooker, but they do retain heat better than thin bases. If you have an electric hot plate on your cooker then use it to pre heat before transferring to a gas ring, using boiling water from the kettle also helps. The pans come very well packaged. Don't be to quick to throw away the packaging! Each pan is wrapped in a polythene bag with a cardboard liner to prevent damage to the nonstick finish. After use, and certainly before we travel we repack the pans using the bags and liners. Each pan fits inside the other, then they all sit in a frying pan wrapped in an old pillow case. They are great. Handle easy to click on and off and the whole stack doesn’t take up much room **Q: Gas did not work. The pan handle melted or am I doing wrong? It could have caused a serious accident as no instructions** A: The handle is not designed to stay on the saucepan - the idea is to place the saucepan on the stove and remove the handle. You may need to stir the pot in which case clip the handle back on whilst you do that. I use mine on induction and gas hobs and on occasion have left the handle attached - never had any danger of the handle melting. Flames should never come up the side of the pan. **Q: Is the non stick coating ptfe (teflon) ?** A: I have no idea!
