Warranty details and age/league restrictions
Great bat. My 12 year old hits very well with this bat. A couple warnings: First, the warranty sticker is very confusing. These bats break all the time. Easton is good about warranty claims, but you need to have the "matching hologram stickers". If you don't have the stickers you can't make a warranty claim. When this bat arrives in the mail, one of the two stickers is attached to the barrel of the bat and one is attached to the handle. On both stickers a disclaimer is printed that says "warranty void if removed". But there is also a warranty card that says "keep this sticker" and directs you to attach the sticker to the receipt. I called Easton, and they said that we are supposed to remove the sticker on the barrel and attach it to the receipt, despite the "void if removed" warning. Very confusing.Second, you should note that this bat is not legal for play in Babe Ruth leagues, so once your kid is 13 or older he can't use this bat anymore...

Adequate "pop" for everyday use.
Does what it is suppose to do. Your child swings the bat and hits the ball! If you are looking for a miracle bat that allows your child to hit home runs everytime he/she comes to the plate-- keep looking! This is a well balanced bat with adequate "pop" once the ball is hit. Remember bats don't hit home runs--the child swinging the bat hits the home run. Worth the money for the confidence it may allow your child to have based on how the ball jumps off the bat.

Get the weight right, Easton.
We have a 29 17. Good pop but weighs almost 3 oz more than advertised. Easton needs to correct this in the future. List itat its correct weight. We have two other older Easton's and they are all the weight on the barrel. Not sure why they couldn't get this oneright.

My son loves it.
I bought this bat (The 31, with the 12 drop) for my 10 year old son (5 feet tall and weights 100lbs). He has always made great contact and hit the ball very well, but it seems like the bat he had previously had limited sweet spot (He had an Easton S500, which was very light and good, but he outgrew it). He is hitting the ball very solidly now. He is hitting lots of solid line drives to the fence and over the fence (200ft fence) during practice. He has not used it during a game yet, but he is very excited and loves his new bat. This bat will not help your child make contact with the ball. Only lots of practice in good fundamentals of hitting can help with this.

Solid bat. My ten year old son is hitting ...
Solid bat. My ten year old son is hitting exceptionally well! He's 4'11 and 80 lbs. It's really making a difference.

Whoa...way better than expected.
I got this new 12 drop Mako (31/19) for my 10 almost 11 year old son. He is a very good hitter (based on OPS metrics). He had been hitting a couple year old composite Demarini CF6 and doing well. In the last few games it seemed like it had gone dead as composites do (swing hard and ball barely went into outfield). I bought this bat and went to the cages (me throwing) - my son was hitting it well, but game play is the real story. Well last night was nothing short of shocking for me. Why the heck didn't I buy this bat sooner?!?!?! 2 doubles and a triple - all 3 at bats he pounded the FIRST PITCH. This 12 drop really helps with bat speed and subsequently contact. I am amazed at how much pop this bat has right out of the wrap - all we have done so far is me throwing to him fromg the batting cages a bit.Wow wow wow - don't hesitate - buy this bat. Sheez. As an aside - my other son has an "orange mako"...these other reviews stating that bat is better...I don't see that at all. I see the opposite.

Beware, actual weight is 2.3oz heavier
First, note that while Easton bats typically weigh the same as stated on the barrel - the MAKO appears to have been weighed before adding the end-cap. The 29" 18oz bat we bought weighs 20.3oz (see pic). I knew this thanks to reviews which is why i bought the 29/18. Make note of this before you purchase because bat weight can be the biggest success factor for kids when hitting. We have been using Easton bats for a few years now, mostly the S2 model because i couldn't stomach spending the money. My son (9) is now on a 9u travel team so i bought this bat and he loves it. The ball comes off hot just like everyone says. Also, my experience with Easton customer service has been great... we had an S3 many years ago and it started to crack after about 10 months of use; i called and they replaced it with a better model (S2) free of charge. I hope to never have problems with this bat but know that Easton will stand behind it if I do.

not as good as 2015 model
This bat just doesn't seem to have the same pop that the 2015 model did. Im completely disappointed. Im not sure its much better than a onsale Big 5 bat.
