Day 3 hundreds of visible shrimp swimming in all directions! Short Simple instructions, easy setup, everything needed for first generation included (yep, the instructions proport if you take care they spawn future generations). After a month, most are dead. About 7 are full size half inch long. I wish I'd started with a 1 gallon aquarium or larger. You will need to mix 4 tbsp, non iodized salt to a gallon of bottled water, and you should get a fish tank air pump for them. Leave the air diffuser near the top of the water, or it just spins them round. If you want them to survive, you need to get them in a much larger environment that will stay healthier longer, they grow so quick, they're such amazing creatures and so much fun to watch. But that water starts evaporating pretty fast and gets toxic. These are brine shrimp and you can order brine shrimp eggs, but be extremely careful not to put too many into your aquarium because they all hatch. I put a 1/2 a teaspoon in a one gallon aquarium a couple days ago, and the thing is shoulder to shoulder, with hatched shrimp within 2 days and again within a month. They'll be a hundred times that size So I wish I'd put in less in my one gallon aquarium that I moved my seven remaining aqua dragons to or really that I'd started my aqua dragons in a 1 gallon aquarium

Super cute little critters. I’ve never had one of these kits work before, this one hatched all kinds of ‘dragons’ started with probably 100, down to around 25 now. That is normal. They are breeding like crazy and we will eventually have a new generation to enjoy. I bought them for my 8!year old grandson and I love them as much as he does. A great little way to watch life happen and enjoy with your kids or just yourself!

This was a fun little activity that kept the kids entertained. Watching the Aqua Dragons hatch and grow was exciting, and the instructions were easy to follow. It’s a great educational gift that teaches kids about caring for living creatures while providing hours of enjoyment. Definitely worth it!

I’m overall happy with this, though I must sadly report that my first clutch had died. One star off, because I feel as though the instructions weren’t clear enough, which partially led to the death of my lil guys. I did end up getting a second batch, and they’re doing well, but this one did not fare well. After doing further research, here are some tips for those struggling to get them to survive: 1. “Murky water” is kind of a vague term. I feel as though with the amount of aeration and food and algae floating around, it was difficult for me to decipher what it meant, thus leading to me overfeeding which began the beginning of the end. The best advice is to use common sense. If you only have three survivors, you probably don’t need a full scoop. Even waiting every two days might not have been enough time to feed them a full scoop. My second group has done well being fed small amounts basically every day. I will eventually upgrade to a full scoop and maybe adhere to the original schedule, but their water is noticeably less “murky” than the first time around. 2. Don’t wait 24 hours to feed them. For the second batch, I kind of waited a few hours, but put a small scoop of food in there since they don’t take long to start hatching. They do hatch with a yolk, but the yolk runs out quickly. If you’re asleep when they wake up, they may starve before you get a chance to feed them. In my first run, had a good group of hatchers where 90% met their demise after 24 hours. This was part of the issue, I believe. I strictly stuck to the recommended feeding schedule, and they hatched and looked good, but I think not getting to them in time with food is part of what doomed them. The other half of why they perished may be related to my next point: 3. Aeration. Instructions say “for a few seconds.” I don’t know what that means, so I did like, five pumps for the day. That was certainly not enough. I do about 15 pumps twice a day now. Might be excessive but it doesn’t take a lot out of my day to do either. If they start acting all sluggish, there’s a good chance they need oxygen. Additionally, if there’s a lot of algae in your tank, you need to make absolutely sure there’s enough oxygen for that to flourish, as well as for your dragons. Additional points I can recommend: - They don’t all hatch at once. I didn’t quite understand that point at first. It may be entirely possible that if I had done the above, some would have hatched over time. I unfortunately got hasty and discovered this after I replaced the first group. But they would not have survived if I didn’t start doing the above. In my second group, it’s been about a week so far and babies are still popping out here and there. I think it may take up to a few weeks for all the eggs to hatch. - When you aerate, don’t smash the pipette against the wall. You never know if there was a wee baby you just smooshed. Also don’t forget to rinse your pipettes out, they get pretty gnarly. You also don’t want to introduce something gross that might kill them because you let your pipette get gross. Overall, especially for the price point, I think this is worth it. I wish the instructions were a little more thorough, but also I have a funny brain so I can’t entirely fault the instructions for my mistakes. But if you’re experiencing any bad luck, hopefully the above can help you. They’re a little more intense than what it appears at first glance, but overall it’s just routine maintenance and eyeballing them to make sure it all looks good. Takes me no more than five minutes out of my day, so I suppose they can be educational for small children to teach them some responsibility. I loved them as a kid, and I love them as an adult.

So upset, Did everything correctly and nothing happened, no hatch no change no anything. Waste of my money it’s been past the 7 day mark and still nothing. My daughter really was excited about this and she received nothing.. i’m afraid to purchase again and end with the same results

Got this for my 8 year old nephew. There are too many to count that hatched so that was exciting. Then they started having babies so there was so much to look at and he really enjoyed it. We are going on 2 months and they are still alive

These did not last long. Maybe 2 weeks. We actually started with like 50 and they died off quite fast. We had 1 big guy left but he eventually left us. We’re currently waiting for the water to evaporate and will try to reactive to see if any eggs were laid.

Definitely best set I've ever had, and I've had then sense the 90s. Worth every pennie. It's also cheaper. Tank is also the best love it's durability and the lid see through. It's been holding its temp the best compared to others. Definitely try a heat pad under it and get a sticker thermometer to put on the side. You will definitely help for those who are having trouble getting it to hatch. You want to keep that temperature.

Great hatch rate, hatched within 24 hours. Instructions are simple to follow as well. Will repurchase for next time

I got a set of aqua dragons in March and mine are still alive and growing so I wanted some more. Lol. I got this one. I like the thin tanks because the green stuff at the bottom isn't that bad. That's the pro. The con is that it's really easy to tip over when putting air in it. So if your doing this with children it may not be a good idea to let them do the air bubbles on their own because the tank will tip over when putting air in the tank so that they can breathe! Don't forget to give them air once daily for 1 minute straight and push the air in slowly. Take your time because of they are mating you don't want them to get stuck together. Yes...that happens and it's really sad. They get stuck together and when the female or male dies it's still stuck to the alive one. One day I tried helping the male because the female died and turned black...sad I know 😞 what's even worse is I was pinning down the dead one so the other one could try and unstick himself. It was working but then my cat hit my arm and my arm slipped and hit the bottom of the tank. BOOM dead 😭😭😭😭 both gone. omg I was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo freaken sad that day!!! Tips: only feed once a week. Give air once daily for a minute straight. Be gentle with the air bubbles. Don't take out the green stuff at the bottom. And when putting the air in once daily, don't go all the way to the bottom and then put air in. Don't go passed half the tank. Because the stuff on the bottom will get all throughout the water. you'll see what I mean a Month or two later. Lol. If there are little white balls of stuff. Take it out asap. It's a fungus that can make them sick. It happens with sea monkeys alot but it's rare in aqua dragons. Not sure why....could be the tank. Not sure. Don't ever over feed them. If they look dark (Black almost) they are overfed. If they are pink or redish they need more air they are dieing from not being able to breathe. So give more air. If you see any at the bottom of the tank and they are solid black, curled up and not moving, make sure it's not a dead female. If it is, leave her there for a few days and then pick her up for the funeral. Lol. It's because they eggs could detached from the "belly" and could get hatched within the first 48 hours so there's that....so yah leave it for a day or two... The water will evaporate over time so make sure you use the same bottled water that you used to begin with and refill it. I put a sticker there so that it's easier to know exactly where the water stops/ begins. Definitely perfect first pet for kids but be there when they put the air in. Otherwise you may end up with a bunch of dead sea monkeys anyway because the tank will tip over.

These little guys are the perfect pets. At first, I’ll admit I was disappointed with the container that they came in, but all I did was add some colour changing fairy lights In the little mountains and it works perfectly. For those that are reading reviews saying that nothing hatched it did take about three days before you could see the animals. So be warned if you are tossing it out within the first couple days, you are throwing the babies out with the bathwater. These guys are about a week old right now and are growing very quickly, I’m actually thinking about getting a bigger tank. UPDATE: they are doing even better than before! I actually did combine the aqua dragons and sea monkeys into one larger container and they are breeding with each other. You can see everything from babies to mature adults in my tank. They are doing absolutely fantastic as you can see from the video.
