This item met my expectations perfectly. I really liked the fact that the cover portion is glass rather than a plastic of some sort. Mirror on the bottom and back - nice! The glass sections for joined together neatly - no sloppy silicone oozing out from the joints or anything. Very well done wood base that the glass portion sits down into - no real danger of the glass portion shifting around unless you'd really give it good whack that would cause it to dislodge. The engraved plate looks great - rather upscale appearance.I read that some reviewers weren't happy that the round pedestal (which is plastic) wasn't siliconed or glued down. Personally, I prefer it to be free standing/not glued as it will make it easier to clean the inside bottom mirror effectively. And it would be very simple to stick it down with a couple of small dabs of silicone if someone desires. With the pedestal being shipped loose, it gives the user options.The item was packaged impeccably - virtually impossible for any damage to happen unless someone ran over the box. Best packaging job I've ever seen!!!A ding - the projected receipt date shown in the item description was missed. A re-do on the date range (which I believe was instituted by Amazon once they saw that the item hadn't shipped) was missed as well. We did end up receiving it after the vendor replied to an inquiry from Amazon and gave a ship date that was met. Guessing the vendor is busy. Point being: If your individual situation is very time dependent, you're best to communicate with the vendor about that in advance.Overall, I couldn't be happier with the item!!!
