Perfect for now...
Early review: Just what I wanted...I have long embraced the "Note" series of phones - I have had a 2, 4 and now 8. I tend to generally adopt later after bugs are fixed - thank God I did with the 7 - but I went early with the 8. Thinking Samsung's culture would "make it right" and I have not been disappointed (plus I love the 360 "free gift" camera they gave me - good stuff). I have also been wanting/waiting for a light laptop that would allow me the "comforts" of doing things on a larger screen in a Windows environment, that I do on my note 8. The Notebook 9 Pen has done that for me. Plus I love the number and variety of ports they provides (see the specs). It just arrived last night and once I fully charged it I opened it and it is so intuitive that I have been flying through the apps/screens/menus with ease - using key, fingers and S-Pen.. Laptop for when you need to do the "high volume" typing on a bigger screen; tablet with tiles for when you want the "on the go" feel of walking around, sitting in your favorite chair or out in your favorite nature spot. Still working through the features and any perceived limitations - so far it is just what I've been looking for. Love the Notebook 9 Pen. I'll update if anything changes.

Great for art!
This is a 1-year review for the Samsung Notebook 9 Pen (NP930QAA-K01US).This laptop has a 13.3 1080p screen. While the price tag on this is high ($1200 +tax) for it's specs but the s-pen is likely the main reason for that. I bought this with the full intention of drawing on it because of the s-pen tech (wacom) and I was not disappointed. It has 4096 levels of pressure and I will include a picture so you can see how this is. The s-pen is small for taking anything other than notes but you can get the s-pen from the tab s3 or s4 to use with it without any difficulty. It is much better and smoother than the Windows surface pens and works just like the Tab s3 or s4 with the exception of perfect palm rejection, which is passable on this; grab yourself an artists glove for anything more than sketching, though. Everything draws and writes quickly with no lag thanks to the Wacom digitizer and I have been able to make some wonderful pieces with this in the year I have had this. The computer itself is great, it's speedy, comfortable to carry, and the fan runs fairly quiet and only gets a little hot during art projects. It only lacks in three minor areas but they should be mentioned: The battery only lasts about 6 hours, the material feels a bit cheap, the speakers aren't great, and the fingerprint reader never works on the first try for me. Most new laptops of this size seem to have batteries that last 7-8hrs and the newer model gets 9. The cheap feeling comes from them making this device soooo light, which in my mind is a solid trade off. As far as the speakers go, the laptop is made to be super portable so I have been using headphones most of the time. All in all this is an amazing little machine and works great with no problems after a year.

Cost is too high, not representative of value and features
I'm a software developer who has been using PC's since the early 90's. I build my desktops and have very rarely found a laptop that suits my needs. There is often one or many things that I find issue with. That is exactly the case with this laptop. There is too much glare on the screen. Even indoors, the glare is significant. At night when there is no sunlight, the glare is minimal and the screen is bright and vibrant but during the day, any amount of sunlight and you are going to have trouble seeing the screen when unplugged and the brightness lowers to power save. Also, when unplugged, the wifi slows down due to power saving and the speeds are cut in half. I was getting 300Mbps 5ghz wireless AC when plugged in and only around 150Mbps when unplugged sitting at the couch. The pen is fairly useless. It's too tiny and inconsequential in your hand. Taps don't seem to always register and sometimes I'd have to tap several times to get a file to open or a movie to play. This could just be Windows 10 very crappy touch screen gui and interface. I'm not sure if this is Samsungs fault. I think the bottom line is, there are alternatives if you are looking for a laptop or tablet that have better features and battery life for a lowered cost. This unit just simply was not worth $1250 + tax. I love samsung prodcuts too. I have favored Samsung Galaxy phones for a very long time and I don't see that changing anytime soon, but this laptop 2n1 just didn't do it for me.

Pathetic Samsung support
it's a very nice laptop. works well; extremely light (which is why i bought it); screens a little smaller for "older" eyes but i have hooked to remote LCD when not traveling.BUT...support is beyond horrible. just registering on their site was difficult. it didn't recognize the serial number which took me an hour to clear up on 3 different samsung sites. it's impossible to email them. you can only call. and the people that answer don't know much other than std. answers.on tech person told me to message on facebook and he'd reply. what? that's nuts. i did it and he replied with std. info. i asked him to pls call me and he said "his dept. can't make calls; only reply on FB."my one question (other than how to register) was whether it would support 2 external monitors. THE ANSWER ON PHONE AND VIA TEXT WAS "NO IT WON'T." in fact, it works fine on two monitors when you get the settings right.worry to think how bad the experience will be if i ever need a repair or have serious tech issue.

SHOULD BE GIVEN MORE CREDIT and better reviews its greatly under rated
SHOULD BE GIVEN MORE CREDIT and better reviews its greatly under rated, mostly called bland based on aesthetics and lack of mainstream laptop branding they normally use. However, its ahead of its peers in many ways. 2 rapid ID uses, very portable 2.2 lbs. Fast mobile CPU well integrated. Commonly used USB 3.0 and USB C. Great screen. Etc. If you like the note and want to use a similar quality device in laptop sometimes tablet form. Beats the newest HP spectre in portability and ease of use from my experience.
