The cheapest one on the Amazon and it worked fantastically can't believe it punched out metal easily

Works as designed - a solid, sturdy tool. Yes, they can certainly add better printed instructions for first time users.

I picked up the VCT Multi-Purpose Power Hole Punch Kit 7 for basic metal and plastic punching jobs, and while it technically works, the overall design made it more frustrating than expected. 🛠️ Performance: The tool does punch clean holes as advertised—once you get it aligned and start applying pressure, it does its job. I tested it on light sheet metal and plastic, and it got through both without cracking or distorting the material. So if you just care about results, yes, it works. 🤚 Ergonomics (the problem): The biggest issue is the handle spacing. The grip is way too wide, even for someone with medium-to-large hands. You’ll have to stretch your hand uncomfortably just to get any pressure started. For anyone with smaller hands or limited hand strength, this will be nearly impossible to use without both hands—or bracing it against something. 🔁 Ratchet Would Improve It: Honestly, if this tool had a ratchet mechanism, it would be 10x easier to use. The current design requires a full, strong squeeze in one go, which isn’t ideal for precision or comfort. A ratcheting version would allow better control and more accessible operation. 🔧 Build Quality: Feels solid enough and doesn’t feel like it’s going to fall apart. The dies are sharp and interchangeable, and the included punch heads do the job fine. 🧾 Bottom Line: If you’ve got large hands and strong grip, this might work fine for occasional jobs. But for more controlled or frequent use, or if you value comfort and ease, I’d recommend looking for a ratcheting version instead. The wide handle spacing is a dealbreaker for many users.

I have not used this tool expensively yet, but it met the immediate need I purchased it for. I used it to punch holes in sheet metal which it accomplished easily. Not really engineered for punching holes in much more than foil or paper or cardboard. It’s a real knuckle buster.

I use it for punching holes in copper strap, and it works OK.

Only one complaint, the mandrel or die leaves a ragged hole on thinner metal but for the price I am happy.

So far product itself seems fine. The plastic case, on the other hand came half destroyed from very basic cardboard box packaging.. Hard to keep the punches and dies organized.
