Needs an LED array
First of all, this is a sturdy flashlight and matches my other Ryobi power tools. It has a convenient rotating collar to direct light upwards or downwards. However, the bulb burnt out the first day of use and I'm realizing what a pain an 18V filament flashlight bulb can be.I think anyone who has bought a flashlight in the last couple years is familiar with the superiority of an LED over a halogen filament: much longer life, much lower power consumption, cooler. Now, Ryobi is in a bit of a spot, because this is tied into their 18V battery, and 18V is much more than the typical cheap LED can handle, so they would likely create an array of LEDs (perhaps 6 or so to best allocate the voltage). Still such a flashlight would be vastly superior to this one, and well worth the extra price. As it is, the only two selling points of this light are that it matches my tools, and it uses a high capacity rechargeable battery that I am motivated to keep topped off.[Update: I was able to find a single LED replacement for $18 on eBay and that works OK, albeit not spectacularly bright or as nicely designed as an LED array would be. And it cost more than the whole flashlight. Still it brings this flashlight up to the minimum I expect a modern flashlight to be.]

I can't use other flash light anymore.
This is our second flashlight. My husband and I walk our 2 dogs at night in the woods, and we needed two good quality flashlights. With those flash lights, we can clearly see objects relatively far. We can even spot deer or rabbits crossing ahead of us in the pitch dark night. I used several different flash lights before, but none worked as well as this one. That's why we bought another one, so that two of us can walk around with our dogs at night safely. My husband also owns Ryobi's power tools, which operate on the same battery pack. We use Ryobi's power drill during the day, and this flash light during the night, but one same battery serves for both. Highly recommended.Only negative, if I would add, is that we found Ryobi's English site is not too sophisticated. Thus, we had difficult time to find replacement bulbs for those flash lights at first. But it's a minor thing.

Very effective flashlight...
I have several of these placed at various locations around the house to be used as needed. They're great. I'm a Ryobi fan anyway.

Good flashlight
This was my 2nd of this type I bought. The first came with a let (drill, sawsall, etc). But I liked the flashlight so much that I bought this one to have two. The only problem I've had is that the bulbs are sensitive to dropping. If you drop the flashlight, more times than not you'll break the bulb. Make sure you get a replacement bulb that supports the same voltage (18v). But otherwise, it's my entire family's go-to flashlight.

Ryobi 18V flashlight
This little light was purchased to replace a much larger, very bright light that had a very short lifespan without a 24 hour re-charge. I really didn't expect it to be as effective as the old light, but was pleasantly surprised. It's VERY bright and so much lighter to handle - plus it runs on normal batteries, so if it would happen to need new batteries, you just pop in a few new ones and you're good to go. It's a great little flashlight!!

Great flashlight
Best flashlight I have ever owned. one of the things I really like is that when the rechargable battery (extra and not shown) "dies" it goes off, period no fade out, time to recharge. A little heavy with battery but bright light and rotating head.

Puts out lots of light
The unit puts out a lot of light, probably the equivalent of a 40watt light bulb, more light than a flash light, but not as much light as a drop light.I like the unit for two things the flat bottom means I can set it down, and then swivel the head in the direction I need the light. This tool has been incredibly helpful for my automotive projects, be sure to have plenty of batteries as it will go through them fairly quickly.
