I run a dehumidifier in my basement all summer long and this dehumidifier works great. It removes a lot of humidity from the air and keeps my basement nice and dry and cool. The only thing I don't like about it is,the hose attachment on mine don't work so well because the hose has to run to long over to my sump pump and it won't drain correctly to remove the water, so it still fills up the tank. I now just let it fill the tank and empty it about 3 times a day. All and all it works well.

We recently purchased a 2400 sq foot home and it was incredibly damp. To the point mold was starting to grow and wood was starting to expand. Purchased this dehumidifier and it works great. Took care of all the issues we were having. It's not real big and quiet. Definitely worth the purchase.

Our house has been excessively humid with the heat wave and it being an older home with a fieldstone foundation. Within about an hour we filled the container which was a little scary.I would recommend using the draining feature if possible. The hose though is very short and unless you've got the machine really close to a drainage point, you're going to need to buy a longer hose. I'm talking close like on a counter next to a sink or even above a washing machine drain.Machine is very quiet but throws off so much heat it was like having the oven door open. Not really a fan of that feature in the summer but it could be nice in winter.I think for us it's great at quickly removing the moisture but I would have been tempted to buy a rollable ac unit that has a dehumidify option and vents out a window just to avoid the heat.

DO NOT BUY SHINCO PRODUCTS! Their dehumidifier is extremely badly made and a waste of money. It started out with a minor problem that became increasingly bad over time. By the time it stopped working altogether, I could not get a refund, and even if I did get a refund, shipping a 50 pound box to China would cost a fortune. So I'm out more than $200. DETAILS: A dehumidifier has a compressor, radiator, and fan that work together to draw in damp air. Humidity condenses on the radiator as water and then drops to a bucket below or is drained out of the machine. Sometimes the water on the radiator freezes and the unit stops working, as the solid sheet of ice covering the radiator prevents air flow. At that point the dehumidifier should have a program mode where the compressor stops working and allows the ice to melt. Then the compressor re-starts and continues working. This SHINCO dehumidifier now ices up INSTANTLY and NEVER enters defrost mode. The fan and compressor run continuously, using electricity and making noise but NOT removing moisture from the air. This was always a little problem (I would turn off the unit to allow it to defrost and then manually re-start it) but now it doesn't work at all. It is out of warranty (90 days?), but even if if they let me return it, shipping a 50 pound dehumidifier to China would be extremely expensive. Online "product support" is just a Wordpress template to gather your marketing information (name, email, phone number). DO NOT BUY SHINCO!!!

Well built, quality throughout. The manual is correct, somewhat easy to follow, even for a novice like me. Thank you for that! I use it in a crawl space/basement... it dried up everything overnight and has since lowered the humidity in the rest of the house. I'll probably never turn it off. If I can install it, anyone can!It re-starts and runs at the same setting, if/when we lose power, running on our whole house generator.

Bought this unit to replace out GE dehumidifier that just broke. I'm giving 3 stars because yes it works great as a dehumidifier but for starters the tank is very small and fills multiple times a day easily. Next is the hose they supply you for drainage, that's only 3ft long.... The unit basically has to be sitting on top dof my sump pump for me to use the supplies drain hose. And lastly the noise. This thing is loud. I head the fan running upstairs when it's in the basement. So overall it's a solid 3 star. It's loud and could be a little more convenient but does work well and do as it should keeping moisture down.

My dehumidifier luck is like 1 year. I bought a Black & Decker from Amazon and it lasted a year. Fortunately I bought the extra warranty and was refunded instantly. Shinco? Well they're all Chinese and I bought this 75 pint unit. It socks the moisture out of the air in no time and pumps water into the sink. Year 2 it started freezing up with a HUGE block of ice. After I removed the extra black filter that came with the unit it's back yo 100% normal. So far it's the best I had even better than my expensive Fredericks.
