Q: what is the length of section that holds shelf. The ones I have now are 2 inch.

Unfortunately I am not at home so I can't measure them for you. But I can guarantee they are not 2 inches. These are perhaps an inch or three quarters of an inch.

Q: Will these work in a shower? Or will they rust?

They are metal, although there is a vinyl cover to cushion the underside of the shelf. You might be able to use these in a wet environment if you get clear nail polish or an oil based varnish to cover them. Yeah - use an oil based varnish, dip and let dry on cling film. That might do it, but, of course, no guarantee.

Q: How much weight can it hold both sides of a 1/2 inch glass shelf

It can hold a lot. 1/2" thick glass is pretty extreme for a shelf but your point of failure would not be the peg, rather the wrong size diameter hole or the material used to house the peg.

Q: Will this bracket fit a curio cabinet?

If your curio cabinet has 1/4” diameter holes, and it certainly will! However, some curio cabinets have 5 mm holes, which are smaller. We sell those as well, elsewhere on Amazon.
