Once in a while you come across a book that gives you a chance to re-write your life.. take that chance..
This is the first review i have ever placed on any site.. Didn't care much about all this crap.. but i was compelled to write for 7 habits.. For the people who are crying about the "low quality paper" . . you don't have to eat it.. you have to read it.. Coming to book - (Although i feel like i am too ignorant to give a review about book, but i can try) I was constantly stopping myself from underlining all the sentences, still i have blue ink on every page - honestly.. You always wanted a mentor who could show you the path to greatness - a sense of purpose in life - something to live for - something to die for.. You may have messed up childhood or unloving parents.. maybe you were bullied in schools or turned down in your relationships.. You have your social mask on you for many years that you can't even face yourself.. You are wondering why people can't understand you, why people just want to get something from you.. You feel like life is just boring and people are zombies, its just too hard to control ourselves and do what we should do.. You never saw any "human" and you never learned being human.. "The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation. What is called resignation is confirmed desperation." - Henry David Thoreau This is your chance to learn that and stop living a desperate life.. with time, entropy happens(All natural processes are irreversible. All natural processes tend toward increasing disorder).. things get complex and they just get messed up.. you may think that you have time but tomorrow you will have family and kids and other responsibilities.. it won't get easy, it would get harder to organize.. so you have to take active steps to organize it.. how can you do that? well, for starters - READ THIS BOOK secondly, REVISE THIS BOOK OVER AND OVER AGAIN What does it talk about? it talks about the principles - set of principles that governs all the world, it applies to all human beings, they are derived from nature itself - more like the words of god.. this book inspires you to leave the mediocre way of getting "quick fixes" about your visible problems and look for deeper problems - problems of the principles we live by.. "ravan" was doing everything right according to his paradigm(his understanding of reality), and he was hardworking and strong too.. but his paradigm was wrong - his principles were wrong - and hence, lol you know the story.. The thing is, no matter how hard you work or how smart you are, if your direction is wrong - everything is wrong.. This book helps you to see the right direction - the noble direction - the direction where virtue lies, greatness lies.. how to read this book? you are smart enough to know basic stuff.. but in this book, you have to sit with a computer to read about each topic in detail if that topic is related to you.. People say that it is an easy read and easy to understand - I would have to disagree, it uses easy language but the concepts are deep and each concept(not principles) have books of their own in the market.. you see, this book will give you a shield so that you can face anything in the life.. if you are introvert, think about each topic, if you are an extrovert, talk about these things - use facebook or something.. As a Religion.... Just like the religions unite people and bring them together(oh come on, keep those prejudices aside), this book would help to build a better society, a better organization, a better family, a better life.. where people cooperate and look for each others welfare.. where people overcome the mediocrity of win/loose scarcity mentality and work with a win/win abundance mentality.. last words - there are 130 million(13 Crore) books in this world.. An average Indian reads one or two non - fiction book a year.. if i were smart, i would start with the top 100 books.. This one is among the top 10..

Greatness is not this esoteric , elusive ......
Just Decide Who you gonna be ? How you gonna be ? and then you need certain tactics to live a balanced life as a champion so here comes the book that'll give you mental power, enough, to carry you through the battles of Profession , Studies & Personal life. There's no easy way to get yourself better every single day until and unless you put certain principles ,in action, in your life. Habit 1 ( Be proactive ) is about of making right decisions at the right time. "If you live each day as your last, then, someday you will be most certainly be right " said Steve Jobs at Stanford years ago and somewhere near to this edifying lesson, Author has put second habit( Begin With End in Mind ) by making the reader to imagine his/her own funeral & what does you want people over there to say in eulogy ? Habit 3( Put First Thing first ) is embedded in such a way that it'll somehow leave a deep impression on the soul of reader to segregate what's important & what's not , what to handle with immediate attention & what to put on hold for sometime. On a dinner table, when asked both Gates & Buffet 'The most important factor in the journey of life' & both gave a one word answer ' Focus ' Habit 4(Win/Win) is basically related to professional life, albeit could also be put in personal or academic life, and talks about how the ideology of getting profit to both sides on table help in nurturing the basic relationship & ease the path of any deal. Habit 5( Seek First To Understand,Then to understood ) is about emphatically understanding other's situation & then response as if you're walking in their shoes. Habit 6( Synergize ) is about promoting the concept of group achievements in which every member of the group plays an important role to increase the overall gain of the group which is always more than the gain achieved by any individual. Habit 7( Sharpen the Saw ) include the basic concept of private victory which include the meditation and salutary habits which help you keeping up the pace for all other 6 habits. So, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, is a must read !!!!

Not just theory provides practical knowledge !
A Life-Changing Journey I recently finished reading "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey, and I can confidently say that it has been a transformative experience. This book has had a profound impact on my life in the short six months since I first picked it up. Covey's principles, although simple, are incredibly powerful. They have taught me invaluable lessons about personal effectiveness, leadership, and interpersonal relationships. By following these habits, I have witnessed a significant improvement in my productivity, self-discipline, and overall well-being. I will never forget the six months I spent immersing myself in Covey's teachings. They have been the best months of my life, filled with growth, fulfillment, and a newfound sense of purpose. If you're looking for a book that can truly make a difference in your life, I highly recommend "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People." It's a timeless classic that will continue to inspire and guide me for years to come.

... an interesting story how I came across such a great literature. I was watching a Hindi movie "Mann"
There is an interesting story how I came across such a great literature. I was watching a Hindi movie "Mann". Somewhere in the movie, I saw Manisha Koirala reading this book. I paused the video and googled for it. It was a best-seller over 25 million copies sold. I was dumbfounded. I read some reviews, purchased the book and finished it....and here I am writing my review of this book. Since this book is not a collection of short stories, drama, and other interesting stuff, it might bore you at some points; but I'd suggest not to keep it aside. Keep reading and finish it. It basically focusses on and is designed for working people who struggle constantly to manage their time, energy, relationships, social interactions, and above all.... their efficiency and productivity. But trust me....this book serves equally the purposes of everyone who is sincere about their lives, relationships, commitments and personal growth. Once you relate the ideas and habits taught in this book to your lives, you'll be amazed to see the connection. you'll feel this book talking solely about our life, making your actions more effective, your time more productive, and your relationships more nurturing. Let me summarize the 7 habits for you-- 1. Be proactive 2. Begin with end in mind 3. Put first things first 4. Think win/win 5. Seek first to understand, then to be understood 6. Synergize 7. Sharpen the saw ------First three habits deal with the private victory, next three habits(4-6) deal with the public victory and the habit seven provides four dimensions---Physical(exercise, nutrition, stress management), Mental(reading, writing, planning, visualizing), Spiritual(value clarification & commitment, study & meditation), and Social/emotional(service, empathy, synergy, intrinsic security)----on which the six habits survive and flourish. These seven habits are interwoven and inseparable. I personally loved habits 1 and 7. After reading this book, I don't know why....I have got a strong feeling that I should read "Shrimad Bhagavad Geeta". I found almost every idea in this book somehow to be inspired from ancient scriptures and that has been simply put in modern language. It was needed to be done so because our modern senses are offended by old principles and teachings. We simply just don't value them unless we are being taught the same ideas and principles in modern language as Mr. Covey has done. Thank you, Mr. Covey!!!!
